Edimax Wifi adapter seems to go to sleep if not used (solved

Hi, Still trying to get to the bottom of this one, but it appears that the WiFi adapter keeps on 'going to sleep' if its not getting any traffic. Typical behaviour would be switch on the Pi, using the Edimax wifi adapter, no lan connection. All is well and I SSH onto the Pi, it then seems that as lo...

Re: Controlling a DC motor

Might be worth having a look at some of the old copies of the raspberrypi, i think issue 3 or 4 as it had a little project where they mocked up a door bell/alarm that would go off when the door opened, and i think switched off when the button was pressed. Some of the components are different to your...

Re: Streaming Raspberry Pi Camera H264 into HTML over RTMP

Hi, I've been going through the instructions, I've followed all the instructions and haven't received any errors. The problem I am having is that when I open the html file I get the jwplayer windows and the loading 'wheel' just goes around. I'm fairly sure that the camera is working, the red light o...

Thank you so much for the reply, I shall definitely give it a go and hopefully will be able to get something to work, at least it sounds like I'm not completely unrealistic in my objectives.

Thanks

Is it possible to stream fast real time to a web browser?

Hello, I've owned the raspberry pi camera since it came out, have been playing around a bit with it, but one of the things that I have REALLY struggled with is getting it to stream video. Starting to stop being fun in anyway shape or form ... so I would very much appreciate the view from the communi...

Re: Another Raspberry Pi Car Project

I would certainly recommend having a look at Webiopi (http://code.google.com/p/webiopi/) in regards to controlling your motors, especially as you want to have it controlled through a web browser. There was a couple of good tutorials in the MagPi a couple of issues ago. Works really well and the soft...

Re: PWM outputs

Depending on what you are going to be doing with it the the webiopi library may help. Have a look here: https://code.google.com/p/webiopi/ and check out the MagPi Magazine from a couple of months back as they have a very good tutorial on how to get it working controlling a motor. I've found webiopi ...

Re: Error compiling mjpeg-streamer. HELP !!

Actually i take that back, the instructions on that last link (http://wolfpaulus.com/journal/embedded/raspberrypi_webcam) worked a treat at installing mjpg-streamer. I wonder why none of the other instructions worked when they appear to have worked so well for others, oh well. Many thanks once again...

Re: Error compiling mjpeg-streamer. HELP !!

Many thanks, unfortunately it would seem that I've already got build-essential installed so I don't think that's my issues. My image is getting a bit old now ... downloaded in September I think, its been updated lots since then and never had any problems, but could something be corrupt causing this?...

Hi, I've been trying to get mjpeg-streamer installed but when I run the make command I get a whole load of errors. I don't think you will be able to get it to work as your want. You could make a h-bridge .... but i've spent many many hours trying to find good workable examples and then get them to work ... I gave up and went down a different route. This is my solution to this problem : http://thingswatihavedonewi...

What killer apps should I use with RISCOS?

Hi, really excited about seeing RISC OS on the Pi, I was lucky enough to own a RISC PC when I was younger and was very sorry when I had to move over to Windows. That was quite a while ago, and have been playing around with RISC OS and its very nostalgic but I've struggled finding software to make it...

Re: Starting robotics with raspberry pi?

I think one option might be to look at something like the piface board, but if you want to do something a bit more simple then you could do something like I've done here : http://thingswatihavedonewithmyraspberrypi.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/controlling-bigtrack-motors-with-my.html negatives are that it...

After many months I've finally managed to do the simple task of using the Raspberry Pi to control a couple of motors. Many thanks Tony, your board looks really good and can't wait for it to come out of beta. Hi Tony, this looks exactly exactly exactly the kind of thing that I am looking for. Where does it get its power from ? is that what the centre sockets are for?? One other question, sorry if being thick, but where can I get one? I've had a look on your blog, and also on the http://www.dtronixs.com/ ...

Hi, Can anyone point me in the direction of an interface board that will work with the Raspberry Pi that will allow me to drive at least 2 motors (Simple 3v & 5v DC)? Just to add, I am connecting to the RaspberryPi using TightVNC, I have tried running "sudo idle" and "sudo idle3" from a terminal window, but I get an error message saying "Client is not authorised to connect to ServerTraceback .........."
