Re: [HELP] Raspberry Pi 4 Compatible WiFi

Use the chipset name of a wifi adapter when looking for linux compatibility.
In your case it looks like the driver needs to be compiled to make the adapter work:

Re: NFS Server not loading after reboot

Try removing your .mount unit file and adding a line in fstab that mounts your usb volume to the local filesystem.
Be sure to include options nofail, defaults, auto in the mount point specification.

Re: Pi 3 model B - "No wireless interface found" and no internet connection

Why don't you try installing Raspbian, as you said would some time ago?
NOT Raspbian in Noobs.
Install Raspbian direct to the SD card. No Noobs anywhere.

Re: NFS Server not loading after reboot

TBH systemd usually succeeds at mounting local volumes it reads from fstab.
Perhaps you could use the tried and true fstab file and let systemd run its magical mount unit generator on its own...
In raspi-config the option to wait for network at boot (?) is generally helpful.

To configure your machine, follow these guides
https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... iguration/

/etc/network/interfaces should not be used to configure networking.

Rely only on documentation explicitly written for Raspbian Buster.

Re: Can I use pptp vpn or openvpn on docker Container network?

"Exec format error" usually means you're trying to run an x86 container designed for Intel processors on the Pi, which uses an ARM processor. On Pi, use only containers built for ARM, usually called 'arm32', 'arm32v7' or 'armhf' Check which images you've pulled in your local repository. The mismatch...

Re: How do get good UNDERSTANDABLE information on PI

Nxdomain on your link? Anyways, I saw one of your previous threads. Pi runs Linux (for most people). Linux is documented (mostly) via "man pages". E.g. "man timedatectl" on your Pi or on google. Pi-specific information is basically limited to the boot process and to hardware features. The documentat...

X was never designed to be used outside the LAN nor for audio networking. RFB (VNC etc.) was designed for LAN/WAN. It has extensions to support audio, YMMV SPICE was designed to allow the "desktop OS running in a VM" scenario, with published specs for video, audio, pointers, etc. I assume Virtualbox...

Re: Raspberry pi 4 b or latest hardware network

I would avise to start by taking a look at Docker, running it in 3 (or more) virtual machines on a "regular" PC. Docker will provide network load-balancing (for the web front-end), some measure of node load balancing (for the transcoding thing), and shared network storage (with NFS). You won't reall...

"multihoming" refers to something else entirely (networking)
Look for keywords like "backup", "replication" or "mirroring".

Not looking at the video, but all these NAS devices are built using Linux. So yes, you could be able to replicate filesystems between 2 Pis.

Re: PI Zero SSH with Bridge

The following change should give you the DHCP address you want on br0:
sudo nano /etc/dhcpcd.conf

Code: Select all

#add at the beginning of the file
denyinterfaces eth0 usb0

#add at the end of the file
interface br0

apparently something changed in Raspbian in a relatively recent release.

Re: Connection Properties eth0 activity resets at 4GB

These counters are implemented as 32bit integers they will roll over. I think some 64 bit kernels have 64 bit counters, or maybe it is a kernel config option. In any case, the issue is pretty easy to work around, just keep in memory the previous value and a rollover counter. If current - prev is neg...

Re: Proposal : include capacitors in the next models of the Pi to finally solve the data corruption problem

If the projected device has to have a data link, then I could suggest adding a clock into it, so that power off and power on dates can be programmed. This is what some smart power strips (branded Energenie, IIRC) do. Scenario. While running, program power off to t+5mins, power on to t+10mins. Shutdo...

Re: Pi3B + Buster + headless + WPS?

Right, WPS support is fading away. I think WiFi QR is replacing it, but either the device needs a display or network access, possibly internet, will be required to publish the code. In general, the IoT stuff relies on some internet-accessible, protected location to mediate the interaction between us...

With linux eth0 might respond when you ping wlan0's address.
In the router, check the wifi access point is bridged to the ethernet network.

1. Read hostname from /boot/hostname and adjust /etc/hostname and /etc/hosts accordingly. 2. If SSH is enabled, avahi should announce it. Not earth shattering but would make sense, IMHO. Re: Access Point mode + eth0 & wlan0 in the same subnet

I you use the routed setup, you must use different subnets for each interface. Otherwise the Pi gets confused as to via which interface it should send traffic. Multiple interfaces in the same subnet requires setting up source-based routing in Linux, it is tedious and I would avoid that. The same pag...
