Re: vcgencmd / enabled codecs

Apologies for digging up this old thread but I just wanted to add the following options also works on the codec_enabled command. pi@raspberrypi ~ $ vcgencmd codec_enabled MPG4 && vcgencmd codec_enabled H264 && vcgencmd codec_enabled WVC1 && vcgencmd codec_enabled MPG2 && vcgencmd codec_enabled MJPG ...

Re: wireless AP with hostapd and realtek chipset (works)

I'm looking to use one of my pi's for a wifi access point by the TV. I'm in the process of building hostapd to support my wifi dongles RTL8188CUS chipset as set out above. However I want to keep my existing DHCP server and just pass the DHCP requests through the pi to the devices connected to it. Do...

Re: pacman -Syu - operation too slow

I've managed to mitigate the issue slightly, by manually using wget to download the repo db files and then over writing the existing entries. After running pacman -Sy it all seems to go ok and I can now install programs from these repos without it erroring.

Re: pacman -Syu - operation too slow

It is odd. I've tried a number of times through the day and I've also tried different servers. It seems my pi just does not like those repos. And it is only those listed in the 1st post that it has an issue with.

pacman -Syu - operation too slow

So, Fresh install of Arch and on running pacman -Syu to update it I keep getting the following issue: [root@alarmpi ~]# pacman -Syu :: Synchronizing package databases... core is up to date error: failed retrieving file 'extra.db' from eu.mirror.archlinuxarm.org : Operation too slow. Less than 1024 b...

Re: Cyntech case - quick review

So far I can say this is the best case for the Pi available at the moment. I've the raspberry one and a green modmypi case and the modmypi case is so bad in comparison. I'm looking to replace it with the blueberry case in Jan. Also Cyntech's customer services are excellent, I was expecting case feet...

Re: Wow! First production enclosure just arrived

I'd just like to say I bought one of these case last week and it is a really well built case. Cyntech are great to deal with I asked about feet for the case and was sent some a few days later.

The case is way better than my ModMyPi one.

Re: 'Nokia 3310' type LCD add on board

Texy, are you able to access the unused GPIO pins with this at all? And which pins are used for the screen?
Considering a screen for IP info on my dev Pi.

I must say that I was dismayed to see that this is a paid for book. More so considering it is only 8 pages long :o

Re: Berryboot v1.1 - Boot menu / OS installer

Any chance CEC support can be added for the installer/boot menu at all? Would make it simpler when booting on a TV to launch openelec/other xbmc distro?

Re: Preparation for additional codecs???

In light of the recent codec licenses for mpeg 2 and vc-1 I was wondering when we can expect the licences for dts and ac3?

These are the ones I'm really interested in.

Re: Preparation for additional codecs???

Looking at the list Max posted,

Am I right in guessing that ddpdec.vll refers to Dolby Digital Plus decoding?

Re: Punnet - a print at home cardboard case

I've just built the alphs case and it's prety good. Will certainly be building the mk1 for my other pi. The only issue I have however with the mk1 is that the label for the network LED shoud really say "100M" not "10M" as I remember seeing somewhere that it was a mistake on the borads as the etherne...

Re: [my experience]RS better than e14

I too have now recieved both my Pi's from RS and Farnell. Both suppliers could do with learning a few things from each other imho. RS needs to learn how to comunicate with their customers, as Farnell kept me upto date a lot better than RS did. However RS did ship their pi in a solid box as other hav...
