That didn't fix it for me. :(

Oops, late night changes... :( The file should be fetched from the github. So the commands should be:

Code: Select all

git checkout config.txt
git checkout current.txt
git pull
This time it should work. Sorry about that.

Re: Peppy player

OK, I have fixed the issue. You can get the fixed file by running the following command from the folder /home/pi/Peppy:

Code: Select all

git pull
It should fix the issue which you reported.
Thank you!

Re: Peppy player

Hi MrGibbage, Thank you for reporting the issue. I confirm that there is the problem with shutdown from a playlist. During the shutdown the player saves a song name instead of file name. For example for the file '01 - Eagle.flac' in the playlist the player will save 'Eagle' in file current.txt: [fil...

That did it. Back browsing again my files again. Thanks for the help! Great! Regarding folders with album art images, they can be displayed by the Slideshow screensaver which is the default screensaver. The folder names are defined in this property: https://github.com/project-owner/Peppy/blob/a25aa...

Re: Peppy player

.... I've tried changing the playlist within that file to one single file and that also did not help. More likely the configuration file which keeps the current player settings was screwed up at some stage. I'd recommend to refresh all configuration files to the original state by running the follow...

Re: Peppy player

Hmm, there is really no connection between CD-Player and Podcasts modes. Looks like a bug though I couldn't reproduce the issue. Here is the logic which disables the Podcasts option in the Home menu: https://github.com/project-owner/Peppy/blob/a25aaddc2b3a436be698e3fa6ad97b313a774fef/ui/menu/homemen...

Re: Peppy player

Hi Koepisch,

Thank you for very good requirements! I'll take them into account for the next release.

BTW, long press on a folder in the Audio Files mode starts recursive playback of all files in that folder and sub-folders.

Re: Peppy player

Starting to have an issue here. The UI freezes and I can't play anything. Steps to reproduce: Reboot (sudo reboot or pull the plug--it doesn't matter) Upon reboot the web UI works, ssh works, and all of the controls on the pi lcd work. No music is playing. But, if I tap on Audio Files from the home...

Hi peppy.player, after using the right relative path it worked like it should. Thanks. I wasn't aware in which path the "scripts" are running (runnin in "/home/pi/Peppy" context). Re: Peppy player

Assuming that you have many images there is no need to save the filename in the config file. You can just pick the random file from the list: # Copyright 2019 PeppyMeter peppy.player@gmail.com # # This file is part of PeppyMeter. # # PeppyMeter is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify...

That's really good progress. To make the touchscreen working complete the following steps: Create the file sudo nano /etc/udev/rules.d/95-ads7846.rules with content: SUBSYSTEM=="input", KERNEL=="event[0-9]*", ATTRS{name}=="ADS7846 Touchscreen", SYMLINK+="input/touchscreen" Then run: sudo apt-get ins...

Sometimes LCD-show creates new /etc/rc.local file. The player starts from that file. Please make sure that it doesn't have the line: fbcp & If it does comment it out or delete. Also make sure that the player startup line is there: su pi -c 'cd /home/pi/Peppy; openvt -s -- python3 peppy.py' Use 'sudo...

It looks like the player didn't start properly. You can check if the python process is running using ssh session: ps -elf | grep python More likely it's not running. When does it stop working? Is it after shutdown? Did you change the playlist from the web UI? Can you try to change it in editor (e.g. nano). The valid RSS file is a regular XML file. If you open it in browser you should see the the root tag of that file is 'rss'. For example you can open one of the default podcast links in browser and see the structure of the RSS feed file: https://radio.nac-cna.ca/podcast/explorethesymphony/explorethesy...

Hi, More likely the link to the podcast is not the link to the RSS feed. The player can parse only valid RSS files. Re: Peppy player

OK, I'm still not sure that the player should be completely shutdown. Probably running pygame.quit() could release resources. Though I didn't try it myself.

Good luck in your investigations. Please keep me informed.
