Re: Kodi 18.3 Leia for Raspberry Pi 4

I changed my resolution on Raspbian and Kodi to 1920x1080, 60.00Hz. That is the highest resolution with 60Hz (on my TV) that is working fine with no stutter and tear problems.

Re: Kodi 18.3 Leia for Raspberry Pi 4

To avoid starting text terminal manually you can use:

Code: Select all

sudo chvt 1; kodi
In my case I was not asked to log in. ;)

Re: Kodi 18.3 Leia for Raspberry Pi 4

Is it possible to restore entire kodi settings from RPi3 under the ".kodi" folder? Will it work or do I need to install all addons again and adjust settings? @amilino I am no Kodi expert, but as far as I know it will automatically upgrade your existing databases and addons in the .kodi folder. Back...

Re: Hdmi hotplug not usefull

This sounds like it is more down to your monitor than the Pi. The EDID should be readable even when the display is powered off - there's even a 5V line up the HDMI cable to power the EDID EEPROM. Testing on my Dell monitor here I can read the EDID happily when it is turned off via the soft power bu...

config.txt file: hdmi_group= hdmi_mode= Check the list of HDMI groups and modes here https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/config-txt/video.md , then add appropriate numbers after = I know about that but I would like to have a more generic solution. Re: Hdmi hotplug not usefull

The same way Raspbian configuration utility knows about resolutions of TV, the same way it should be possible to do it via terminal and with trigger on hdmi connection to RPi. It is all about automation on thing that exist and work if I do it manually. But if I have to do it manually, then I rather ...

Hdmi hotplug not usefull

Hi, I am using this option hdmi_force_hotplug=1 in case when I start my raspberry pi before turning on my TV. Now this is super option but in my case not that usefull. Thing is that when I turn on my TV, resolution will not be the highest so I need to manually change it to auto via GUI application c...

Desktop preferences not saving changes on RPi4 with Buster

I am not able to change anything in Desktop preferences (pipanel). It is always reverted to default settings. I checked config file (~/.config/lxpanel/LXDE-pi/panels) for write permissions. It is very anoying.

Re: Minidlna Discovery Problem

No, I don't want to start from scratch. But last time I did it I installed Raspbian Stretch so it was quite recently. If I enable dlna on Kodi it will appear on the network but then after few seconds it disappear. If I manage to open it on my Android phone, I can also play videos and everything work...

I am running Kodi on top of the Raspbian Stretch latest version. All that connected to my very old TV that is not 4K supported. Re: Resize image for use on a smaller sd card

Yesterday I tried to use PiShrink on my laptop. I have Jumper book, where I installed on internal eMMC card Windows 10 and Kubuntu 18.04 in dual boot. I did backup of entire device (mmcblk1) with dd command, and did shrinking of it. During the process I received some messages that something is wrong...

This question will probably sound very silly, but: how do I use this to control kodi on raspberry 3? I've tried running it from both another instance of vnc, and ssh and in both cases i get something along the lines of pi@malina:~/dispmanx_vnc $ sudo ./dispmanx_vncserver Read config file: ./dispman...

eXtplorer on Rpi3

Hi,

is it possible to setup eXtplorer on Raspberry pi (latest Stretch). My idea is to put it on Apache and without using mysql database.
If one know how to do it please share steps. So far I tried doing unziping of files and putting them into www folder but no luck.

Thanks in advance.
