Re: Dune Legacy

From searching about, yes its classed as abandonware. Its only the pak files that are required from the install. I tried out Dune Legacy on the PC last night and it worked well.

Dune Legacy

Here's some blurb from their website Dune Legacy is an effort by a handful of developers to revitalize the first-ever real-time strategy game. The original game was the basis for the hugely successful Command and Conquer series, and the gameplay has been replicated an extended to a wide variety of s...

LiveCode Adopted by More than 25% High Schools in Scotland

http://www.prweb.com/releases/2013/2/prweb10449626.htm Up until a few days ago I'd never even heard of LiveCode, but now after a successful Kickstarter campaign to make it open source, looks as if it might take off. There is also a link on the page where one of the developers has made a rough port t...

LiveCode

Anyone heard of LiveCode ? Its about to become Open Source thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1755283828/open-source-edition-of-livecode) and there is already a raspberry pi port in the works http://blog.runrev.com/blog/bid/270735/LiveCode-on-Raspberry-P...

Re: Upgrading Python

What you could do is run Python through the Geany IDE
sudo apt-get install geany

Then once its installed you need to make a change in its config so that Python 3 is run be default, see post below

I thought it would have hit its target by now, I know there is still quite a long way to go, but maybe there is not enough demand for a modern Elite after all :/

Re: SSH into Pi from Windows

Billb did a great tutorial on its use here http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=21610 For info though I came across a little bug, if accessing headless and you have never ran startX on it attached with a proper keyboard and mouse, then the start bar does not show. I had to re-image...

Re: Network bridge

I can't answer your original question but it sounds possible. However an alternative that requires no configuration is to use a couple of powerline adapters, this is what I use http://www.ebuyer.com/367949-zyxel-pla4201-500mbps-mini-powerline-ethernet-adaptor-twin-pack-3-year-pla4201-gb0201f Basical...

For some reason, I could not follow your link, but it is viewable from the front of your main site.

If they've sent you a 256 model as a replacement for a 512, then I'd be sending it back again to get the 512.

Re: missing start menu bar when running startx

@billb

I'll try that, I am using MobaXterm and did launch it that way first before then checking it on the TV, I'll re-image again and check it on the TV before doing anything else. I wonder if there are some file that can be deleted to put it back into that state ?

Re: missing start menu bar when running startx

Thanks I will check that out as I have the old image (that is upgraded) on a separate SD. However I get the same behavior if I run it headless so would have thought that the HDMI setting would have no effect ?

missing start menu bar when running startx

I've just installed a new image of raspbian, updated it, but when I "startX" I have no bar at the bottom, with the start menu and CPU indicator. Any ideas ? strangely I have an older image that has been updated to the latest on the same type of memory and that one works fine. I'm about to try and re...

Working Setups - This works for me

Thought it would be useful if there was a post were people could list which combination of parts worked for them, to help any new buyers out. The verified hardware list http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals is still a good place to start but it wouldn't surprise me if certain combinations don't ...

Re: IDLE syntax error

I use Geany as my IDE and think its great, however I noticed that when running the code it was using python 2, when I wanted it to work with Python 3. To get it to work I had to make a change in the "Build Menu" then "Set Build Commands" and change in the execute box python to read python3. The code...
