Re: Experimental enhanced X driver (rpifb)

Any work done to speed up X would be really, really appreciated. I had pretty much given up hope of seeing something like this, which it why I (and I suspect others) have stopped asking for it.

Re: Raspbmc - is USB install worthwhile?

Even the fastest USB3 drives will max out at about 22mb/sec on the pi. Try benchmarking your sdcard, it will probably only be marginally slower than that so would likely not be worth it.

Re: CECanyway

Just out of interest zagor.. did you lose DHCP too? and were you able to get the "stop" button working on the Onkyo remote? I have to remap another button for that function.

Excellent zagor glad someone else got it working. I used the same DVD code to program my Onkyo remote to send keypresses over CEC.

MrNice.. I think your Pi is set up just fine. It seems to me the problem likes with your amp or remote which isn't for some reason sending over the remote keypresses. I doubt a new build will help. Sorry

Re: CECanyway

Guipel - It looks to me like you have a TV which IS cec compatible are are using the TV's remote to control XBMC. Your only complication is a non-cec amplifier which doesn't always pass the cec signal through. This thread is about using the AMPLIFIERs remote via cec to control XBMC, without a cec-co...

Re: Using the Pi to receive HDMI and convert to eithernet/IP

Its the capturing part you might have problems with. The HDMI port is only for video out, not video in, so you will need a USB HDMI capture device. What resolution is the source video, and does it use hdcp?

Does your TV support cec? If so you can just have cec shut the TV off before running its own shutdown

Drop out of xbmc to a command line, or ssh in and run cec-client. Use the remote control can you see anything coming through? CECanyway

As I have mentioned in other threads, I have a TV which doesnt support CEC. I DO however have an av amplifier which does support CEC. I have been attempting to use CECanyway which seems to be exactly what I need - it grabs button presses on the amplifiers remote and uses them to control xbmc. The li...

Re: CEC

This is working as per design. CEC does not work without a CEC enabled tv attached to the system. This is true even though the Pi can "see" the amplifier remote. The only device that can control the system is the TV remote. This is the way CEC is designed to work. Fortunately there may be some hope,...

Does your TV support ac3 decoding (many do) and if so please try connecting directly to the tv. Is it still out of sync? What video codec is used on the problem files? Have you used ac3 from another source on this amplifier? What version of openelec are you using? Do these files play in sync if pass...

You could try using your current pi sharing the audio over upnp via wifi, and add another pi as the upnp client physically connected to the speaker's aux in.
