Re: copy install to new SD-card

For the latest Raspbian, there is an sd card to card backup program in the menu. You plug in any USB SD card adapter and copy. I have not used it. For Linux, there is the disk utility named disks in Linux Mint. You copy the card to a disk image on your Linux PC then restore the disk image to the ne...

For quite some time now, I have been happily power plug pulling when I max out the RAM or something goes haywire without doing the read-only thing. No issues so far! (Yet...ZAPP!!!) :D

Re: How does Ubuntu mate on a Pi 3 perform?

How about wallpaper slide shows, are those still jerky? What about normal use? Any better than the Pi2? Really considering buying a Pi3, but I first I need to convince myself I need it. :D

Re: RPi as Church Presentation Tool

You can also export your presentation as PDF (from a lot of different programs) and use XPDF in full screen mode as viewer. +1 This would probably be the easiest way to get nice graphics with little effort. Plus, if you are used to using Microsoft, you don't have to figure out how to make Power Poi...

I seem to remember that somewhere these files leaked, and news of the coming Pi3 was blasted out on a few sites. I was really impressed though how well you guys kept the new feature PiZero a secret for what seamed centuries... :D

Re: Kodi on Ubuntu MATE 15.10

Does anyone know if windowed mode for Kodi on a Pi is possible? A quick Google search revealed that some drivers needed for windowed mode do not exist for the Pi. Do they now exist?

I believe I figured the black screen bug out. Just did some testing on a fresh install of Ubuntu MATE, so give the original instructions the very first post of this topic) a shot.

Re: Kodi on Ubuntu MATE 15.10

Did you follow the whole guide? Especially the part that says: After running Kodi, you will notice that it will display an ugly black screen instead of your desktop. We need to do a few things to fix this. Instructions: 1. Create a startkodi script sudo nano startkodi 2. Paste this into it: #!/bin/b...

Both of those programs are not supported. Chromium does not work in Ubuntu MATE, so I follow kusti8's guide. Kodi does not work either.

Some install and start, others don't. I have not really been able to test them since I don't have PVR stuff.

Refer to the very first post for all the details. Sorry to all those who need PVR support. I have never used it, which makes trying to figure out if it works very hard. I might, very small might, release the PVR stuff if I figure it out.

Thanks for the info! So, it is OK to enable non free when compiling? It would seem to me that if it was a default option it would. Not to take over this topic, but I am compiling Kodi 17 for Ubuntu MATE. (Discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=124572.)
