Re: experimantal GL driver question

About as stable as your first ride on a bike. It is experimental. It works quite well in some situations (like with chromium), but in other (like with Kodi), it does not work. My two cents. ;)

Re: New Programming Language

I am with IPSW on preferences there :) C is not tough to learn. Memory management is sometimes a bit tricky, but not the language. However, I am thinking that javascript which is not java would augment your HTML and CSS knowledge and let you foray into HTML 5. Yes, I was considering Javascript, as ...

Latest Kodi 16.1 build:

The only reason I built it was because I personally like the old look better. ;)

Learning a New Programming Language

I am looking to learn a new programming language. I have a a decent amount of python experience, and a tiny bit of HTML and CSS knowledge. Any recommendations for a heavily used, popular language?

Re: Kodi on Ubuntu MATE 15.10

But I told him straight up.. I didn't want it released in a prebuilt package. He looked as if he was having issues in another thread, that was pro Raspbian and not Ubuntu, so I reached out in pm giving him my steps... which took me quite a few hours to come up with, mind you. I do thank you for tha...

Re: Kodi on Ubuntu MATE 15.10

I told you straight up I didn't want it released as a prebuilt deb, because I wanted people to learn. When? Just to be clear, I did not try to stab anyone at all. Sorry if I am being a complete idiot, but I am not sorry I built Kodi for many good folks to enjoy. Hopefully this does not turn into a ...

Re: Kodi on Ubuntu MATE 15.10

lol... this won't work. You need to build the pvr into Kodi itself. If you're going to play hero with my how-to, at least know what you're doing to back it up. I gave it to you to learn, and told you I wouldn't upload a pre-built *.deb for a reason.. for people to learn how to do it themselves. sud...

Yeah, thanks a lot for all your help. I had to change a few things, like a custom Makefile.include to get around the gcc 5 ABI errors. Check out all the details here: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=124572&p=978013#p978013

Actually, it looks like it is only supported on Windows:
NextPVR is a free Personal Video Recorder (PVR) application for Microsoft Windows.

What happens if you just start kodi? Correct me if I am wrong, but, it sounds like you are manually starting cec. I don't think you need to do that.

Re: Pine64+ a good deal?

Personally, I don't want to see Android on the Pi. I think it would fragment the community. Many of the people in it for the media player functionality would move over to Android and there would be a whole lot less community support for Linux. However I have no more influence than you do. I however...

Re: Ubuntu MATE '.xz' file

Extract it. Looking at the file will yield very weird characters. (Something to do with binary stuff I think). 7z works great on Windows.
