Re: The Sound of (HDMI) Silence

Hi again all; I've been away & hyper-busy on other issues, but wanted to toss in a little info here. I've now setup 3 Pi 2Bs, all behave the same. Kodi (OpenELEC) runs brilliantly on all 3- great sound, but Raspian, even tho properly upgraded, remains silent on the same mobos, so it is likely a soft...

Once upon a time there was the Connectix QuikCam

Long before Logitech took over the classic golfball webcam, some Brits (& others) started hacking it to study the stars. I happened on a vintage webpage while looking for their Darkgen software (a precursor of Wide Dynamic Range, which was very early linux code), and thought some here might also enj...

Otto, is it possible you didn't run apt-get update first?

Re: Connecting Raspberry Pi Model B+ to 17" LCD Screen

You need to give more information for a solid answer.

Did you use raspi-config to set the video output?
What were the vendor's instructions? Is the controller Pi-specific?
Give a link if they are online... etc

Quick Q about durability of Camera header

Well, now I've got both a standard & a Pi NoIR camera, and then started wondering about frequently changing out the camera cable, that old MTBF thing.

Can anybody tell me if the header is good for, say, 50 insertions before any issues arise? ? Less ? More?

What do YOU want from Win10 on Pi 2B?

The grapevine says Microsoft has acquired at least several hundred new Pi mobos, so it seems Redmond really is actively trying to get the Win10 OS onto an SD card for the ARMv7 sometime soon. Apparently, it is also not going to be some sort of RT castoff. Nothing has been said yet about the things t...

The Sound of (HDMI) Silence

Hi All- I've got a basic sound diagnosis problem that's been eating up my hours without getting anywhere. (It's frustrating, because sound isn't needed for my current project; but I do need to know if this is a hardware or software issue, as my Pi 2B is a new mobo.) The Pi 2B works flawlessly on the...

Hi J-

Try apt-get , it should work much better than get-apt

Re: Icedove email app

"Also Thunderbird's nice calendar addon named Lightning works well on the Pi2, it's called Iceowl in Debian (apt-get)."

It is a nice add-on!
fyi just 'iceowl' will not be found by apt-get; you need to name it as 'iceowl-extension'

Class 10 SDHC Cards- Newbie Qs

Hi All! I'm wondering what experienced folks are buying for the cards in their new Pi 4-bangers... Are they sticking to 8 G Class 4 cards? How full are they after a few months? Are there power consumption or partitioning issues with the larger capacity cards? Do the faster Class 10 cards confer any ...
