Re: Quadstepper motor controller board

Thanks, that makes sense. I also emailed SparkFun for clarification, so we'll see if they can give official word.

I think what threw me off initially was that long line of pins and the example circuit in the data sheet.

Re: Quadstepper motor controller board

If I'm reading this right, the datasheet given is for the chipset itself, not the end user board. Trying to think it through a bit more - can someone confirm if I'm on the right track: - There are four slots per channel; those would be connected to the motor wires. Looks like yellow and blue go to t...

Re: Quadstepper motor controller board

I see the "typical application diagram" in the datasheet but that's not entirely doing it for me. Maybe an English explanation of it would help. (I know some electronics, but by no means a guru.)

These things seem to be a lot less common than one would think.

Re: Quadstepper motor controller board

Not worried about the code, but the electronics circuit and how to wire everything up. Would just love to see an example....

Quadstepper motor controller board

Has anyone used one of these with a Raspberry Pi? https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10507 I got one but am rather confused. I'd love to see a complete circuit with this thing controlling four stepper motors via RPi GPIO. Seems absurd that no one has talked about this, but a search on these forums an...

Success, got that motor controller and it indeed does seem to work pretty well with the motor!

Re: Controling a big motor with an L298 dual H-bridge

Ok thanks. Yikes, $50 each. :/ Would I use this on the Pi in exactly the same way I'm using the L298? Looking at the PDF for it, I see the M1 and M2 control inputs. Do those connect directly to GPIO pins and set one high to move in one direction and the other high for the other direction? I assume G...

Re: Controling a big motor with an L298 dual H-bridge

Heh. Well it didn't fry it instantly, as it now works fine with a smaller motor. Any specific recommendations for an appropriate controller?

Controling a big motor with an L298 dual H-bridge

So I'm going through the book "Make a Raspberry Pi Controlled Robot" and having some problems. As an aside, the book *looks* good at first but I can't seem to find anyone else who is going through it. If so they're pretty silent on forums! My sense is that the book is not entirely complete nor entir...

Re: 7-10" touch display

That later link, the 9" - I'd be very curious if anyone is using that. What do you have to do to make it work? I really want a touchscreen but with virtually no info I'm hesitant to order.
