I figured it out. First I issued the command:

systemctl disable dhcpcd
Then I renamed /etc/init.d/dhcpd to ipset and renamed the start command to enable, added a new start command that points to the IPSet script in /usr/local/sbin, and finally issued the command:

Code: Select all

update-rc.d defaults ipset

I am aware I can have multiple IP addresses on an interface. That is precisely the opposite of what I want. Ordinarily the RPi boots and automatically assigns an IP address to whatever interfaces are available via DHCP.
