Re: Bridge / route eth0 to wlan0

I managed to connect 4 ICQ Trend boiler controllers to our wifi each using a B+ via bridging. The Boiler controllers have to have a static IP address for this to work, normally if via wire DHCP will do fine. The settings I used can be found https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=733494#p...

Re: First Java program for pi on rasperry pi with netbeans

Probably due to security, you have to allow your application access to the GPIO pins. At the moment I don't have the details to do this. This is certainly the case when using Java ME, you have to allow access outside of the sandpit.

Re: RPi WiFi to eth0 bridge not working

Hi. If you have used the Edimax wifi dongle then the MAC (media access control) number is written in very tiny lettering on the gold surface or I think it may be written on the box it came in, I'm not sure of this latter statement though. The MAC address of the WiFi dongle you can get from doing the...

Re: RPi WiFi to eth0 bridge not working

Have a look at this thread viewtopic.php?p=733494#p733494, it may help. Note changing the ath0 entries to br0 does work. I have 4 Trend boiler monitors connected to Cisco WiFi each via a B+.

Re: Pi as wireless bridge?

On some site I read that using br0 had an ill effect in using wpa_supplicant, which was probably incorrect, I didn't test it, but that said, at that point I hadn't managed to get a working connection. Maybe I should replace all the ath0 for br0 and check, it would be an interesting experiment to see...

Re: Pi as wireless bridge?

Success yesterday! After a week of trial and error, scouring the Internet for clues, I managed to build a transparent bridge using a Raspberry Pi and an Edimax wifi USB dongle. A device (laptop) was connected to the ethernet port using a crossover UTP cable and its wifi disabled. This is using the m...

Re: You HAVE installed the jumper on J7 haven't you?

I was completely unaware of this and have been using the board without issue, the LEDs have been lit when I wanted them lit and the SPI ADC chip returned data. Going back to the documentation, the bottom of page 9 and the top of page 10 clearly shows this link made on J7, must have skipped this bit,...

Re: 4 7 segment LED display

After making a LEDs flash (bare metal, no OS, with a library of routines I wrote in the GNU assembler to interface with the GPIO), I'm now up for using a MAX7221 chip. I've coded an SPI driver as a module for RiscOS (in assembler) which interfaces with the Gertboard ADC SPI chip, with success. So th...

Re: How to setup RPI to bridge ethernet & Wifi

I've set up a number of Raspberry Pi's to enable some, hard to cable, Trend boiler monitor devices access to the network. The RPi's wifi was set to obtain its IP address via DHCP which was set in a reservation using the wifi dongle's MAC address. The IP address of eth0 was set to be a static address...

Re: Java me embedded apllication don't start

Within your javame8/appdb directory there is a file called daapi_config.json which provides the configuration of the GPIO pins. The default value for a pin appears to be input but adding the lines: mode:4, direction:1, to the pin you wish to be an output appears to work. daapi_config.json.zip Curren...

Re: Java me embedded apllication don't start

There is a configuration file within the Java ME Embedded on the Raspberry Pi which may need editing. It configures the mode for each pin to be input or output. No matter how much I changed the source file to try and make various pins as outputs, the configuration in this file could not be overridde...

Re: What are people doing with RISC OS on the Pi?

Gradually updating some software I wrote back in 1998 for the RiscPC to imitate Inetd used in Linux servers. Requires two modules which have been rewritten for 32 bit, one to manage Wimp Pollwords the other to manage Asynchronous Sockets which in turn updates the associated tasks Pollword. I have al...
