Haha I know that. What I meant is: is it possible to disable single user mode so someone cannot gain access this way.

Re: Issues with external powered USB HDD

The filesystem is ext4. But what I think is strange is the fact that just after the backup there was no colors, and after I started getting I/o errors, the folders appeared in green. Why would there be such changes? Maybe the way you are mounting/unmounting is changing permissions to the various fo...

Re: Multiple cameras?

I'm interested in connecting two or more cameras and wondering if this is possible. I'm guessing no, I can't connect two camera modules simultaneously in the CSI slot. But is there some way maybe to connect two cameras and switch between them serially, so I can take a shot from one then a shot from...

Re: Will there be a Raspberry Pi 2 B+?

Well your points are taken. However, that is true with any new tech - people have to replace older stuff, there's no getting around it. And as I said before, Type-C has just been released. The prices will come down even more as time goes by. Now maybe a new RPI (type 2C :) ) may help some groups of ...

Heh...Have you looked at the prices of USB-C cables? (And, by the way, a USB-C connector wouldn't do a thing for VGA output, since the Pi has no way to generate the signals for it. I found that a bit annoying at first, but I've come to grips with HDMI and DVI-D since then and have no reason to advo...

Snappy only works on pi 2, it was announced at time of launch, not sure whether that is clear on downloads page.
It's not clear. Why not add a line below that description stating this?

as the previous poster commented, try it. it should be ok. unallocated space is not a partition, so by definition your 1st partition is still that correct vfat partition.

Yes. different software on the SD card that is. you can do that yourself.

Re: Will there be a Raspberry Pi 2 B+?

what else could they add? That's pretty much the key question. The differences between the B and the B+ are more USB ports, vastly improved power handling, mounting holes, and more GPIO pins. The Pi2B already has those changes. The only change one might have thought reasonable would be more memory,...

When we run a program on a computer, don't we instruct the OS to make a copy of the program in the local memory, and then copies of individual parts of the program (instructions) onto the CPU. Re: Not Booting - Green light on

You may have blown the RPi by plugging in the ethernet cable hot. Not that 'that' in and of itself was the problem, but you may have become the next victim of ESD (electrostatic discharge). The RPi is *very* susceptible to ESD (the reason its packed in a static bag) and plugging things in 'hot' is ...

That should be ok, assuming it works as stated. I still feel there's some hardware problem - either the camera module itself or the cable. The way to eliminate the second is to buy another cable and test it. Can you do that? They sell 2 short cables for ~$5 on amazon/ebay.
