Re: Adapt RPi camera to round cable (not flat flex) ?

I finally got around to building a couple of boards to convert the Raspi CSI Cam FPC to an HDMI-style connector. They work great, even with my longest cable (10m - shown below). . Hi cbst, Great work! very impressive. Are you willing to upload your board designs as an open-hardware solution? Maybe ...

Re: A "Factory Reset" for Raspbian

I have found that I quite often have to re-image raspbian or re install noobs as I mess up my raspbian install sme way or another. Is there a quicker way than having to take out the SD card re-flash etc. like a factory reset for raspbian, alternatively could you run noobs from inside the raspbian e...

When are you primitives going to adopt Napoleon's weights and measures and a sensible temperature scale? When they made us learn metric in grade school, Teacher said "within 10 years, we'll all be using it." That was over 40 years ago. The whole world uses the metric scale with sensible numbers lik...

ok the pistore freezing problem has been solved. Somehow vnc does not render it. But if you use X11 over ssh, like with MobaXterm, it renders it correctly.

Don't be stupid. It works with firmware commit 8ddfa1f9eba8a207724644b22255597757dbcb75. It's running right now. Again, it doesn't necessarily mean that its a problem with RPi's usb implementation. It could be, but maybe not. When a new version of iOS was released, (I think it was ios 5), many car ...

I think your best best is to troubleshoot with: 1. a new power supply. Get one which has a rating of atleast 2Amp. 2. A new SD card. Do th...

I have an interesting use case where my 2B with a USB SATA hard-drive in a cheapo carrier (from ebuyer) doesn't work with the latest rpi-update so I'll work with the Foundation folks to get that one fixed. lol! Is that because of the RPi USB though? My guess is there's something incompatible with t...

use 'gksudo' if pistore does not run or cannot launch apps

Hello, I was trying to download an app called "gpiomonitor" thru the pistore. It downloaded the second time, but would never launch. One thing I would suggest is - teach them the protocol of not assuming the soldering iron is not hot. I have seen kids try to smell the tip or quickly touch it to see if its hot or not, and hurting themselves or others. Teach them no matter what, the soldering iron must be kept in its stand, prefera...

I had some trouble too, to setup wifi for the first time. You just have to keep fiddling around with the wpa-supplicant till it connects. Or try connecting with ethernet for now, update the RPi OS and and try using the wifi.
