how to make PI out of PI?

Everyone knows that PI is a mathematical constant but what I want to know how does one calculate PI using the PI??

What's the best software to achieve this and what formula does one use to say calculate PI to 6502 places?? ;)

Re: RS has been a disappointment :/

SoerenH, RS are dealing with registered users from March 4th now so something has clearly gone wrong for you.
My suggestion would be to email victoria.johnstone@rs-components.com she deals with all the PI enquires at RS.

PI OS from RS??

When I was ordering my stuff from RS I noticed you could purchase an SD-Card preinstalled Operating System. I didn't buy it because I thought the asking price was too much plus lacking important info such as class and capacity. Does anyone know what OS RS was shipping and whether I could download an...

Re: Windows 8 on ARM

Windows 8 requires an ARMv7 or higher processor the PI is only an ARMv6 therefore not compatible.

Assuming I have 2 compatible wifi dongles working in ARM Linux does anyone know if it's possible to turn my PI into a wireless repeater??

What software do I need or could I configure Linux to accept network connections from one card and relay it to the other??

Re: Invitation to order from RS

I just got my invite today so FYI people who have registered their interest 4th of March should be getting an email very soon. Now my only question is this, RS claims delivery may take up to 6 weeks is this estimate for international or UK?? I know the British postal system can be a bit unreliable a...

Re: Can Raspberry Pi Run VMWare WorkStation .. Or VMWare Pla

You could try DOSBox there is an ARM Linux port which should make running x86 programs possible although it will be slow due to emulating x86 instruction set with an ARMv6 processor. DOSBox is capable of running Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 however just how well they perform under and ARM Linux enviro...

Re: What was your first computer?

My first computer was a Commodore 64 with tape driver I instantly feel in love with this machine the games that you could buy for it. The audio and graphics were simply amazing I guess this kind of inspired me to learn programming although I never did take this up as a profession. Apart from BASIC I...

Wifi card support??

I've got one of these spare Virgin Media dongles WNDA3200 apparently it's has an Atheros AR9002U-2NX chipset.

Does anyone know how well supported is this device with ARM Linux or do I need to download and compile the drivers myself to get this to work??

Re: S-Video port instead of Composite / CVBS or hack??

Sadly the answer to this question if anyone was wondering is no, unfortunately the video chip does not provide chroma / luma signals just the poor quality composite signal. Not to worry though I'll probably ssh with PuTTY anyway or divert my X-Windows session to Windows using an X-Windows emulator. ...

Re: Invitation to order from RS

What is the deal with RS, I registered my interests in the beginning of March, 09/03/2012 and still not been offered the opportunity to order. This is despite the fact I have already received confirmation of interest and emails regarding "updates" on the PI. And while on the subject of shipping why ...

Re: S-Video port instead of Composite / CVBS or hack??

<t>I am quite tempted to buying the Raspberry Pi model B but having no access to HDMI compatible hardware limits me to using the poor quality composite video output.<br/> What would be really good if it was possible to have an S-Video port instead of composite or access on the board to hack for chro...
