Is it possible to show wireless clients IP addresses connected to a RPI Hotspot?

I've followed the guide here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/wireless/access-point.md to create a wireless access point with internet access, and it's been working well for around 2 weeks now. I'd like to the able to see the IP addresses of the devices connected to the hotsp...

Which is the best browser for a node red dashboard in fullscreen mode?

Hi, I'm running the latest raspbian stretch on a Pi2, and it works great, and I've recently added the 7" touchscreen. So far I'm playing around with nodered and made a dashboard that works great with the touchscreen, however the bundled browser (chromium) seems a little slow. The people behind noder...

Thanks, I'll try setting up a swap file and see if I still get the same problem.

Has anyone managed to use 'avconv' to encode 4k video?

on Jessie? I'm trying to encode some still frames taken from the camera and would like to view them on a 4k display, but I'm getting 'malloc' errors. I've encoded videos in the past at lower resolutions without issue. Here's the command line I'm using: avconv -i %04d.jpg -c:v libx264 -crf 20 -preset...

Can log in with SSH then get logged out straight away

I have a RPI2 when is behaving rather strangely after rebooting my router. Before I could access it fine over SSH, but after rebooting my router I get logged out straight away after logging in with SSH, here is what my terminal shows: ssh pi@192.168.1.138 The programs included with the Debian GNU/Li...

Re: Error when following the Timelapse documentation

Thanks, I'll be sure to use github for any future problems I find with the documentation.

I did also try other ways of getting 'mencoder' on Jessie with no luck, it looks like it was in Wheezy though. I eventually found some instructions on how to do it with 'avconv' which worked for me.

Re: Using a Hudl Screen for Pi monitor

I have an old HP touchpad which has a swollen battery and am tempted to try the same thing.

It would probably be easier to just fix the tablet and just use VNC if you need to use it as a monitor

Re: Cost effective way to prevent power cut

A USB power bank that can charge and passthrough power at the same time... Sometimes this is advertised, such as APC's line of power banks.. most of time time it's not. You can also DIY one with a cheap ebay lithium battery charger board, a USB boost converter board, an 18650 battery holder and an ...

Re: Power supply for Raspberry Pi 3 cluster

I've tried powering 2 pi's from from one of those multi-USB adaptors, and did get the bolt with 100% CPU load using a Pi 3. The Pi 2 did work better, no bolts even on 100% CPU; the Pi2 is definately worth considering for a cluster if you want a low power setup even if it is a little slower. Eventual...

VNC and SSH access working yesterday, today it just hangs?

I'm running latest Raspbian Pixel all updated on a RPi 2, good quality SD card, official PSU, and it's a headless machine, I mainly use it over VNC. VNC and SSH were working fine yesterday, no issues, I even managed to connect remotely. Today however SSH and VNC do not work, I ususally log in using ...

I think your cut command is taking filtering out all the other lines, you may need to remove or change the cut command

Adobe Flash acting up

Hi, I'm trying to use a website which needs Flash in order to use it, and having troubles getting it to work. I'm using the latest Raspbian download, the one from 11th Jan 2017 freshly installed using a RPi 2, I haven't updated yet however. I go to this site using the RPi: http://flashbuilder.eu/fla...

Hi HypnoToad, Thanks for the feedback :-) Final Scratch vinyl may well work, I think it is still supported in xwax: http://wiki.xwax.org/timecode_records_and_cds You would need to use the -t option to specify any timecode other than Serato: http://wiki.xwax.org/writing_your_start-up_command Thanks,...

Damn, that's pretty impressive what the Pi can be made to do! Try this, copy and paste to the command line should work: raspistill -sh 50 -o /home/pi/timelapse/$(date +"%Y-%m-%d_%H%M").jpg If that doesn't work try this #!bin/bash DATE=$(date +"%Y-%m-%d_%H%M") raspistill -sh 50 -o /home/pi/timelapse/$DATE.jpg If it doesn't work please post up the error message

I guess my machine may not affected by the bug, or the fix is now been pushed. Everyone's Pi would have been affected - it means that we have indeed pushed the fix! I thought we had, but I wasn't sure... With regards the lightdm question, it doesn't matter whether you accept the new version or keep...
