Re: New Raspberry Pi model 3B+ 1.4 GHz, 330Mbit Ethernet, 802.11ac, PoE

does it have to be Stretch, or will good old Jessie still work as well ?? If the assumption is correct that all the magic happens in kernel and firmware packages on Jessie you need a file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/stretch.list with these contents and a file called e.g. /etc/apt/preferences.d/99kernel...

Re: An mp3 music player for Rpi 3 with 3,5 inch touchscreen

Hello, can anyone suggest an mp3 music player for Rpi 3 with 3,5 inch touchscreen? All the players I have tried are just too big for this tiny screen, I just want to have an icon on the desktop which I start and get my playlist with some optional buttons like play stop next etc. Thank you for your ...

Re: GPIO Runtime Errror

Maybe post the latest version of your code. Your first example doesn't appear to allow a clean exit, which is important in order to do the cleanup() before the program exits.

Re: GPIO Runtime Errror

Hi, it's not an error as such, but just a warning that some GPIO lines have already been setup The message should not appear the first time the program is run, but probably after the program has quit, and re-run. You can clear the error by adding GPIO.cleanup() at the point that the program quits. W...

What he said - your first post needs moderating, but it can be a new thread anyway. Your post has now been split from the original thread and given an appropriate title.

touch button detect

Hi, I am modifying someone else's code to detect a soft button using pygame on a touchscreen. It includes a 'list of list' defining the button screen coordinates : buttons = [ # Screen mode 0 is main view screen of current status [Button(( 5,180,120, 60), bg='start', cb=startCallback, value=1), Butt...

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I am not sure if whitespace is critical, but try this :

Code: Select all

ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
update_config=1
country=AU

network={
	ssid="your-network-service-set-identifier"
	psk="your-network-WPA/WPA2-security-passphrase"
	key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
}

Re: Problem with display

Hi and welcome to the forum.
You have your Pi connected to display/TV screen via HDMI?
Or to your laptop, because this will not work - both the laptop and the Pi are output devices - your laptop cannot receive HDMI INPUT.

Hi and welcome to the forum. This is already documented : Note: the Raspbian with PIXEL image contained in the ZIP archive is over 4GB in size and uses the ZIP64 format. To uncompress the archive, a unzip tool that supports ZIP64 is required. The following zip tools support ZIP64: 7-Zip (Windows) Th...

Re: Unable to install 2.8 inches adafruit pitft touchscreen on my raspberry pi 3 model B(raspbian stretch os)

Hi, you certainly shouldn't need to use a custom kernel as per the beginning of that tutorial . Start off with a fresh new latest version of raspbian, then continue the tutorial from Edit /boot/config.txt with sudo nano /boot/config.txt and add the following lines at the end: [pi1] device_tree=bcm27...
