Re: QT4 - C++ - instantiate problem - help please!

Hello AndyD , Thanks for the info. I ended up with a slightly different approach, (don't know what I did, but it runs fine now). Hello YDYD , is it running well? Yes, but slowly. You will need to set it up. There are threads on this forum explaining how its done. If you have any more questions, I th...

Re: Qt4/C++ Access /dev/mem using tightvnc from Windows 7

Hello AndyD,

Thanks for the link, It might help if I understood what it all meant.
I've decided to use Windows 7 'Remote Desktop Connection' and/or 'MobaXterm' (RDP)
and log in as root. They both seem to work fine. The windows RDP seems to have the edge
on performance.

Re: Qt4/C++ Access /dev/mem using tightvnc from Windows 7

Hello AndyD,

I tried 'gksu' and get:-

Code: Select all

pi@mypi ~/qt4/test $ gksu ./myprog
Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":1.0".
pi@mypi ~/qt4/test $
an empty window displays.

Qt4/C++ Access /dev/mem using tightvnc from Windows 7

Hello, I've written a proram in 'C++' that accesses /dev/mem, the program works fine when run directly on the Pi, either as root or with sudo. I'm trying to run the program from my Windows 7 PC. When using tightvnc I get the following errors, either as root or with sudo:- root@mypi:/home/pi# ./mypro...

Re: partitions problem

Hello, If you want to do this on a PC (Windows/linux/whatever), there is a bootable image version of gparted available. Down load and burn to a CD, then boot from the CD, You might have to change your BIOS settings to boot from CD, select CD as the first boot device, HDD as second boot device. Regards

Re: Understanding LED power vs light output

Hello, Each GPIO pin can only provide a maximum of 8mA or 16mA at 3.3V depending on how you set them up. This is the first I've heard of the 8mA limit. What makes that distinction, and why is there a difference? By default the pin current limit is set to 8mA. You can programmatically set the current...

Hello, Each GPIO pin can only provide a maximum of 8mA or 16mA at 3.3V depending on how you set them up. The total current drawn at any time from all GPIO pins should not exceed 50/55mA. If you need more, you will have to use a transistor/resistor type circuit, or some type of driver circuit and a d...

QT4 - C++ - instantiate problem - help please!

Hello, QT4 - C++ I'm trying something, I think its called 'instantiate'. I'm referring to a function from class1 to class2 and referring back to a control in class 1 from class2. It compiles ok, so I guess its something I'm doing (or not doing). This first call works fine. (c1.initialise()) The seco...

In your conf file you've got Internet==midori you have to put to put the full path of the program, which I think is /usr/bin/midori so Internet==/usr/bin/midori. The same applies to Terminal, I use terminal==/usr/bin/lxteminal, you can try Te...

Re: voicecommand

Hello,

You've got to edit the file you show.
You can't have any blank lines.
You can't have any spaces at the end of any lines.
You can't have any extra blank lines at the end.
Whether the options are correct, I don't know, perhaps another user will know.
