No.

You can use an SD card AND a usb stick, but not a usb stick alone.

There is an example of what we hope to see in the following snippet from my system demonstrating that make install works. pi@raspberrypi ~/PiBits/ServoBlaster/user $ ls -al total 104 drwxr-xr-x 2 pi pi 4096 Nov 26 10:20 . drwxr-xr-x 4 pi pi 4096 Nov 26 10:18 .. -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 718 Nov 26 10:18 in...

Re: cannot get console cable in lesson 5 to work

Good luck sorting this out. As well as not working, it is just possible that you may have 'fried' the on-chip circuitry associated with gpio14 and/or gpio15 (header pins 8/10) if you fed them with a voltage significantly greater than the 3.3v that they are designed to withstand.

Re: Raspberry Pi web server

I was wondering If it was possible to be able to write out some html on a text editor like notepadd++ and upload my web page to my raspberry pi? Yes it is. You will need a further tool such as Filezilla to upload the file from your windows machine onto the RPi. (But perhaps investigate leafpad as a...

Re: How do i Import Libraries into Python?

I can think of at least 3 ways - this is a 'live' sample from a working python script: #!/usr/bin/env python ## import some things import re, sys import RPi.GPIO as rpi from smbus import SMBus from time import sleep from math import sin, fabs Case is significant. And the module must either be in you...

Re: Startx not working

Tidying up parts of the pre-installed Raspbian may help in the long run, but short-term it is the stuff YOU have added since the machine was first switched on that is the cause of your problems. If you have tried and failed to run 'startx' presumably you have a prompt that looks a bit like this: pi@...

Re: servo blaster problem

From https://github.com/sarfata/pi-blaster/ pi-blaster creates a special file (FIFO) in /dev/pi-blaster. Any application on your Raspberry Pi can write to it (this means that only pi-blaster needs to be root, your application can run as a normal user). Can you confirm that you have built and install...

Re: SSH/VNC not working at all

What Operating System is running on the RPi? Raspbian enables ssh and a wired connection to a dhcp-enabled local network by default, so the issue is unlikely to be there. What is the IP address assigned to your laptop? Does your local router have any firewalling that would prevent a connection being...

I'm over here because I have a Raspberry pi and didn't think the RPi community was full of FU-RTFM types who would just post snarky jackass responses in reply. If that assumption was incorrect, I will go over to the BPi forum and reconsider the BPi platform long term. I think you may find *every* o...
