Re: Viewing the Startup Log when running Headless

OK, I'm not running Jessie and, for now, I have no plans to upgrade to it on any of my "currently happy" Pi's. dmesg is almost useless, as it seems to show only the latest entries into the log. I'm most interested in the entries which were displayed on my console during boot up, when I was not runni...

Viewing the Startup Log when running Headless

I'm sure this has already been answered somewhere but I am not able to find the right set of unique keywords to find it, so... I'm running my Pi's headless most of the time. However, there are times when it would be nice to see exactly what was displayed during the boot-up process. For example, corr...

Re: How to set up FTP on the raspberry pi?

OK, I understand the SFTP works out-of-the-box on my Raspberry Pi. I've successfully tested it with the FillZilla client!! However, it appears that sftp uses port 22 which is also the port used for Putty remote access. I may need to be able to use both Putty and sftp at the same time. I've tried tha...

Re: Cleaning up the FAT partion on SD card

OK. All I'm trying to do is find a way to "label" these very small micro SD cards. Right now I have several SD's with different OS configurations and then only way I can really tell them apart is to boot them up in a Pi. They are really too small to label directly. I have been using snack sized Zipl...

fruitoftheloom...Thanks, I will study that reference. kusti8.....My SD card has NOOBS origins. Cleaning up the FAT partion on SD card

Folks.....I've read numerous post about resize errors with the NOOBS SD card. Is there a right way to clean up the SD card after NOOBS has installed Raspbian on my Pi? On the original FAT partition I have less than 100 MB left. I've noticed in the OS folder that there are other folders for operating...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 Boot Issues

Success, but it required access to a Raspberry Pi B+, same vintage as my original!!! Basically you have to read the PiHut reference ( http://thepihut.com/blogs/raspberry-pi-tutorials/16982376-updating-raspbian-on-your-microsd-for-the-raspberry-pi-2 ) carefully and follow the directions. My SD card w...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 Boot Issues

Dougie.....As per the PiHut reference, I copied the NOOBS Lite files (except for the "recovery.cmdline" file) over those on my old Pi B+ SD card.

What other "stuff" needs to be copied onto the old SD card? I do not see a config.txt file.....RDK
