Re: Problems getting avrdude-rpi working over tx/rx

Instructions have moved on, due to later version of avrdude I think 0.12 delay works OK so no changes required to those files from https://github.com/deanmao/avrdude-rpi (except add GPIO.cleanup() to end of autoreset python script) but need to change the exports you set up in your .bashrc export BOA...

Problems getting avrdude-rpi working over tx/rx

Problems getting avrdude-rpi working over tx/rx using jessie on a rev 2 old pi model A On Raspberry I have disabled the terminal console, set the enable_uart=1 and tested the serial port for loopback and the port works ok, This guy developed a method to use strace to reset the arduino by waiting for...

Re: V2 camera lower quality - comparative images

yeah! just ranting... the focus issue is noted on places like stackexchange and improves if you want to take a blade to the lenses throat ! (and unglue it and refocus it LOL) surely they could make an easy stiff twist focus (not glued wrongly focused) version, would be good to compensate if you add ...

V2 camera lower quality - comparative images

Hi All done some more tests, just cut out a comparative block from images from 3 cams and can see the v2 camera appears to have not as good focus. No post processing or compression done by gimp just copy rectangle and paste as new image then save as uncompressed tiff. well, I would post the files bu...

Re: help! long exposure night photos timing out

I'm using a simple python3 script to capture a sequence of images at night with a camera v2 on a pi zero. It keeps failing after just 2 or 3 pics. Decreasing the shutter time helps (but I get a black picture). Increasing the delay between calls to capture helps a little - but still fails eventually...

V2 camera larger FOV Hi All, doing some tests using picamera. Re: picamera noir auto white balance

well, they are not exactly the same frame... noir has more sky... better tests required maybe that noir letting in more "measured" light that the auto mode thinks it needs to tone it right down... but they are not massively different in brightness at same exposure speed under natural light I think. ...

Re: picamera noir auto white balance

OK Thanks, makes sense. BUT running two cams side by side and something going on using python-picamera and jessie light and latest dist-upgrade, same python software by myself using picamera library, one noir v2 and one ordinary v1 cam, the exposure on auto on ordinary cam is 39995 and a nice bright...

picamera noir auto white balance

In some light conditions the noir camera gets nice balance and good colour pics but mainly it is red washed out. (funny some materials that are black appear pink, but not all... fleeces especially do appear pink...) does the firmware have a parameter/auto-detect to say its a noir camera if not can u...

Re: Avahi on Wifi

On mine with an old version of raspbian installed, avahi-daemon was not installed by default, (which I think it is on later raspbian iso's)

sudo apt-get install avahi-daemon

Then works OK.

Re: Raspberry Bare Metal in The Arduino environment?

Nah, just hang a real Arduino off of a Pi and run the Arduino IDE on the Pi. Well my angle is the whole signal processing thing with offloading to a gpu (fast-fft in hq, or dft even) as well, how does that hang together in a single threaded environment? dma? and HQ external AD converters would make...

[SOLVED] MLX90614 i2c on Raspberry Pi Took a bit of reading through the forum, it appears to be solved in 3 ways.... 1. Write your own bit banging i2c driver 2. Use the BCM2835 Library that has implemented a separate repeated start function https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=362243&s...

Re: Raspberry Bare Metal in The Arduino environment?

Sorry about the duplicate post, spotted the Bare metal forum after posting here so posted there as well. The whole point about porting the arduino libraries to compile to ARMN via GCC would be that you had the full power of the GPU and the CPU and no operating system so totally real time and just bu...

Nice, thanks for that reference, looks cool. But I did not mean running the arduino style program under linux, but rather the compile of the arduino program creates a .img file that the raspberry boots off the sd with.... No operating system. But I guess lack of audio quality A/D converter means no ...

Re: Errors when calling sudo apt-get update

Just happened to me when I have B+ connected via ethernet to hub and connected via wifi to another wifi access point

When I removed the usb wifi and rebooted it works OK

so maybe its sending dns/www requests via wifi in preference to the ethernet?

where is that priority set?
