It would help if you listed what device you have.
Also, there's a link to a post of mine in my signature in regards to WiFi issues, have you gone through those things ?

There's quite a few other minimal Raspbian Distros out there now though which other people seem fond of so I haven't put much work into this of late.
Do people want a version based off the new Raspbian Distro ?

Re: Reducing FS image size

There should have been a truncate command at the end that cuts the file down to the right size...not sure if that got missed from the script when I pasted it  That was a very messy version of the script, the new one that I'm doing now is much cleaner :D Also I've found that resize2fs minimal s...

Re: no access to motion server

By default the ports are 8080 for the control and 8081 for the stream.
I can't really think of any reason why motion would run the control server and not the stream though.

Maybe turn logging up on the daemon and see how you go ?

It'll take a lot of management though wont it - do you really want an email sent to you every time motion is triggered? I guess you just have to remember to switch it on and off everytime you leave the flat...just like a burgular alarm ;) I hope you don't have a cat/dog/lizard..... Texy Any sort of...

Sorry about the late reply. Sure I'll get my script up as soon as I clean up a few more bits. I've been slack on it lately haha. I have an older version of the script on my blog, but I don't think it works so well anymore. However you can get an idea of how it resizes images though. http://sirlagz.n...

Re: What to remove to minimize Raspbian (no xserver)

Great! Thanks DeanC I will have to try it. 656MB is really great result.! It's a pity that creators of raspbian don't make any minimal images which just boot and allow installation of everything else what is in raspbian full. Have a look at hifi's unattended raspbian installer,. which is almost exa...

Re: Post my own html code on my raspi hostedapache server

You should probably have a google around on how to create a website to better grasp the basic concepts of a website. Basically - You have the index page, which in your case is index.html This index page should have the main contents of your site, and link to other pages on your site. Other pages sho...

either chown /var/www to 777 to allow everyone to copy it, or use sudo to copy the files over.

a scheduled script to apply rules / not apply rules via iptables would be the way I would go.
iptables and tc can be used together to shape uploads and downloads.

You cannot use 2 Pis as a single server in this way (AFAIK no minecraft server has been built as a clustered server)

Re: Android share mobile data over wifi without enabling hot

The gateway is just the IP address of your android phone
192.168.42.11 in this case. It's only for the local network, i.e. from your Pi to your Android mobile.

Re: Reducing FS image size

Do you want to minimise the size before or after making the dd image ?
You can do it with parted, I've made a script to resize an image from whatever size down to the minimum size + 100 megabytes.
So if you have an image with 600 megs of data, it'll resize the image down to ~700 megs.
