Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Unfortunately it didnt work with my tv: When i press the down arrow to choose what os to boot in (in the os boot menu) that seems not to work and it always boots in my first partition (...

The OS boot dialog is not transparent, but if you choose a big enough wallpaper, it should show up behind/around the OS boot dialog.
Big enough? Meaning 1080p?

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

It's the initial wallpaper that includes the raspberry logo and the "Press Shift..." text. I think it is always there in the background, just covered up by the various windows. All I have done is made it customisable, I haven't changed its functionality. Oh, i thought it was a custom wallpaper for ...

PINN has been updated to v2.8.5.3

V2.8.5.3
  • Wallpaper - Customised wallpaper is now available by writing your own `wallpaper.png` file to PINN's recovery partition
Procount where this new wallpaper option is being applied? To os boot selection dialog?

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Thanks procount. Here is an other one: As you say in README file in the self-update section: "It is possible to disable self-update checks by adding the no_update option to recovery.cmdline. You will have to delete this option to enable self-updates again ." This one means that you have to ssh or re...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Yes. In cec_keys.md it states: The user-supplied CEC key mapping file must be called cec_keys.json and be stored in PINN's recovery partition. So, by PINN's recovery partition , I mean the partition where PINN is stored (/dev/mmcblk0p1 on the SD card), the only partition that is visible to Windows ...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Yes you are right and thanks again. I just need a minimal 3 button setup like yours cause most of the times (99%) i just want to use my remote to only boot into an os. If i want to correct smth i will just plug my wireless touchpad and get the job done.

I will test it if i get the time. :)

Thanks. Let's say that i only want the up/down/left/right cec keys plus the select (enter) option for the boot option and nothing else. Should the cec_keys.json file look like this? (I just copy-pasted it from my notepad ++ here) :| { "bootSelection": { "any": { "Key_Enter": "CEC_User_Control_Select...

Can i completely remove the:

Yes. If you get stuck, raise a github issue and I'll try to help you. Thanks i ll try that when i get the time :) But, wouldn't it be much easier if you implement that function in PINN's user's interface toolbar e.g in main menu? Let's say in a tab between Info (n) and Exit (Esc) tab? And then just...

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

With the general improvement in development of raspie's (both hw and software) is it necessary anymore to install PINN's os's into usb's? I am talking about 2 factors here:

a) in terms of speed
b) in terms of sd card corruption

Any thoughts? :|

Re: STICKY: PINN - An enhanced version of NOOBS.

Is there any way to delete an installed OS WITHOUT affecting the other OSes? The short answer is "No". The longer answer is "Why do you want to do this?"
