Re: SPI with MCP2515

You don't need to communicate with mcp2515 chip. Linux uses standart sockets interface for can bus.
Look into cansend, candump

Re: Raspberry Pi B+ turn usb power off

I tried hub-ctrl.c:

Code: Select all

while (true) do hub-ctrl  -h 0 -P 2 -p 0 ; sleep 3; hub-ctrl  -h 0 -P 2 -p 1; sleep 57; done
it worked for 24hrs without any problem.

Re: CAN controller

3) I can't get any output in candump
you could check your config with any CAN-aware car.
1) I don't know which is Can_H & Can_L coming from the Sorel
2) I don't know the bitrate
an oscilloscope might help a lot.

Re: The Raspberry Pi Model B+ Q&A thread

The 9514 hub's power control is hooked up to the USB power switch. Sending a control message via USB can power it off/on. http://askubuntu.com/questions/149242/is-it-possible-to-power-up-ports-on-a-usb-hub-from-ubuntu Are you sure? I just tried it with: echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/bcm2708_usb/bu...

Is this camera (with default lenses) suitable for macro? Is it possible to focus on a сlose object?
