Raspi3 WIFI - Does It Ad Hoc?

I searched the forms and found questions asking the same but no answers.

Does the on board wifi on the new Raspberry Pi 3 support Ad Hoc mode?

Thanks,
Raspi2 owner seeking to upgrade

where can I read/learn about how to trigger a gpio pin?

Happy holidays all. I want to trigger a gpio pin using touch, maybe using a jumper wire connected to a foil plate or something but I don't know enough yet about how touch can trigger a gpio event. Can anyone help me by pointing me in the right direction with some literature on this type of project? ...

openelec bugging with a large file on ext hd

I have a large video file (an 8gb .mkv) that plays well on my Linux desktop computer but not on my pi 2 running openelec. The external hard drive is on a separate powered USB hub. I was able to play the video half way through its entirety on the video with little effort but paused the video to get u...

Re: In search of a quiet mini-computer

Op, consider the psychological possibility that the older pi is slower and so forced you and your brain to slow down in order to complete a task whereas the new pi is more akin to a smartphone and so it is able to complete the task much quicker causing you to speed up... Its a possibility. Unfortuna...

Re: RPI 2 fail

Just to troubleshoot try it with a completely different power supply with the correct rating (cord and adapter) and a fresh SD card.

If this doesn't help, keep it unplugged for a while and try it again.

Re: Scratch vs. Python for 9 year old

My nine year old was done with scratch on a few months. It is nice to bring the concepts of coding to a visual front and there are some great things that you can do with it. He's onto python 3 now. Which is exactly right - Scratch is an introduction to programing. A position it seems to have filled...

I do believe that the warranted response would have been for us all to become physically taken aback and once we locked ourselves off of the floor, to begin a series of bows and ooooo's +/- an ahhhhhh or two.

We've got out lope. Chill brother.

Hi, I did a search and found two threads that you'll find useful. It looks like there is a shortcut but you'll have to check and see if it happens to work for raspbian (the raspberry pi version of Debian Linux)... If not reports back here and we'll see what we can find. http://ask.debian.net/questio...

Xoo, Your comment of losing a whole weekend rang a particular bell with me. We are in an age where time is thought of as particularly precious and in many cases that is true. I felt the same way when learning Linux and programming... I have since given in to the fact that someone elsr isn't going to...

I doubt the op has malicious intent and instead wanted to show off a cool off unsolicited "hack" with the raspi. However as one user posted, if you have to ask, you don't have the knowledge or understanding and being told how to do it wont help with that. Plus, even on your own property in the US wi...
