Re: Software stack

Thanks.
Probably you don't need a db (sql or another), I prefer having a db container. My gateway communicates with a cloud service (need to update data on the gateway) and above that I want to build in intelligence on my gateway that uses the stored sensor data.

Software stack

Hi, I'm selecting a db (for storing intermediate sensor data, ...) and a webserver/container (for hosting some REST services as well some admin web pages) to install on my RPi. I use jersey for developing my REST services. Performance is important. I was thinking of: Db: Java DB or sqlite3 Container...

Serial Communication over USB

I need to communicate over USB - serial communication to receive data streams from a sensor into my Pi. I know I can use C, Python, Java to handle this. What is the "most easy" and best way to achieve this. I'm of course prepared to learn new things/programming languages, today I have only limited k...

Reading from USB port

I need to read continuous data streams from an USB connected device, can someone point me in the direction as where to look for to achieve this?
I already have Java 7 JDK on my Pi.

Thanks.

Database selection

I read already different postings about using databases on the Pi. Mainly sqlite3 is advised in most situations. What I want to achieve is that different sensors send data (of course this can happen simultaneously) to the Pi. I suppose since sqlite3 is a single user db probably its not suited for th...

Bluetooth LE

I'm new to Raspberry. Has a standard Raspberry Pi board Bluetooth onboard?
If not, I probablyhave to buy some additional hardware (Bluetooth dongle, ..)? What are (brands)recommended dongles, ...?

Thanks.
