Re: bash bug / shell shock now fixed on Raspbian

I ran

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade

It took a long time to run, supposedly fixed a lot of stuff.

Ran the test and shell shock problem is fixed.

Thanks

Re: bash bug / shell shock now fixed on Raspbian

Should

sudo rpi-update

fix this? It does not here.

Re: Turn Raspberry Pi into a P.L.C (Programable Logic Contro

Take a look at this...

http://www.businessinsider.com/momentum ... bot-2014-8

A few RaspberryPi with CoDeSys could control the whole thing.

Ten seconds per burger. Pretty slow process.

I was pointed to a couple of really good YouTube videos regarding CoDeSys. Re: Turn Raspberry Pi into a P.L.C (Programable Logic Contro

Took a image of my running demo version. Formatted the SD. Wrote the new image to the SD. Started the Pi up on the new image. Expanded the image to use all of the SD. I am running the CoDeSys development software in a Virtual machine. The Development software didn't like some of the libraries in the...

For more information on Delta Robots go to: http://www.parallemic.org The basic patent on the mechanism has now run out in both Europe and the United States. There are lots of suppliers showing up. On some of the first systems, the software was written in Turbo Pascal. They are commonly used in Pick...

Re: Turn Raspberry Pi into a P.L.C (Programable Logic Contro

Just like you can download images for Raspbian from this web site, you have to download an image from the CoDeSys store site. They have it preinstalled in a Raspbian image. CoDeSys runs as a daemon in the background. It starts automatically when the Pi boots. You have to run the development software...

Another CoDeSys on RaspberryPi Benchmark... I have a background in PLCs and like the ladder language for general controls. The resulting program is easy to visually troubleshoot. The development tool will show you "power flow" through the contacts and coils. Ladder diagrams are familiar to electrici...

Re: Turn Raspberry Pi into a P.L.C (Programable Logic Contro

The CoDeSys Demo has two tasks. The Main task runs every 20 mSec. The Visualization (web) task runs every 100 mSec. I changed the added code in the Main task like this: REPEAT lrTemp := lrTemp + 1.0; UNTIL lrTemp = 200000.0 END_REPEAT; lrTemp := 0.0; What this code does is increment a LONG REAL vari...

Re: Turn Raspberry Pi into a P.L.C (Programable Logic Contro

OK, a benchmark... When Bill Gates and Paul Allen wrote that first Basic for the Altair 8800, here is the benchmark I used back then: FOR i = 1 TO 1000 NEXT i On a 4 MHz 8080 that code would execute in 4 seconds. The arithmetic was 32 bit floating point. 4 seconds. Background: That Basic would run i...

Re: Turn Raspberry Pi into a P.L.C (Programable Logic Contro

I have the CoDeSys demo running. The web visualization works. That is really neat! I opened my router for the ip address and port 8080, which the software uses. I can hit the Pi's CoDeSys web page from my iPhone or iPad. With the web page idle, the codesyscontrol task is taking 6.5% of the Pi's cpu....

Re: Turn Raspberry Pi into a P.L.C (Programable Logic Contro

I was really excited to see 3 S Software release a demo of CoDeSys for the RaspberryPi. This is powerful software with decades of development behind it. Major electrical controls manufacturers have selected it to be the foundation for their systems. With the help of Bosch-Rexroth, a licensee of CoDe...
