Stream from PI problem

a) I have a Streaming Server and motion detection python script working on my windows laptop. I can access the stream via a web browser on the same local network. b) I move the script to my PI (fixed local network address 192.168.1.61) c) I then SSH to the PI from my windows PC and run the script (w...

Re: Sharing a numpy array between 2 running Python scripts

Sorry Paddyg for the delay in responding. Iv'e tried to merge the scripts, by placing the motion script code in a function, and calling it around line 21 of the streaming server code. But the streaming server script waits for a get request, prior to it starting the motion function; which consequentl...

Re: Sharing a numpy array between 2 running Python scripts

Thanks paddyg for your advice. It's going to take me some time to digest your suggestions, because, i'm a multiprocessing novice! Am I correct that it's probably not feasible to store the numpy array on the PI's sd card 24 times a second? So storing it in the PIs ram (somehow) is the best approach? ...

Sharing a numpy array between 2 running Python scripts

I have two opencv2/Python scripts running at the same time on the same Raspberry PI. 1) A streaming server script based on https://github.com/berak/opencv_smallfry/blob/master/mjpg_serve.py that outputs a live camera feed to the web 2) A motion detection script, that detects movement from a camera O...

Re: Python and a UV4l trying to access camera module togethe

What I meant by "bringing the http server into the script" was to use SimpleHTTPServer to create the server within the script then passing the "processed" frames (in the code example Img) to the server. But I think my understanding of servers needs attention! The script shown in this post is a vastl...

Re: Python and a UV4l trying to access camera module togethe

I think I get the jist of what you are suggesting, but I need to digest what this Rpi as a (virtual) camera plugged into another PC does a bit further; as I don't fully understand it. You say: This would allow you to effectively use the Streaming Server and motion at the same time I'm trying to get ...

Re: Python and a UV4l trying to access camera module togethe

I'm a bit stuck then. I need the uv4l driver to enable me to use the NOIR camera board, but I want to use an opencv2 Python script as well as supply a web stream at the same time. If I change this: os.system("sudo uv4l --auto-video_nr --width 800 --height 600 --rotation 180 --framerate 2 --driver ra...

Python and a UV4l trying to access camera module together

I'm trying to use an opencv2 python script and UV4l-server to stream a live feed, from a NOIR camera board on my PI, but am running into problems. The python script runs and displays the window, but I'm not getting the stream. I'm sure the UV4l server is running, as it prompts me for a password, and...

Re: Motion-PICAM-UV4L

I've tried tried to run a shell script at boot that "LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/uv4l/uv4lext/armv6l/libuv4lext.so motion -c /etc/motion/motion.conf", which worked for a few mins, then back to grey screen again. Re: quick help

It,s Raspbian.

I should have checked space needed before trying to install!

Is there a clean/easy way to stop and delete the make + all the other stuff i installed for opencv? Other than writing the last backup image?

Thanks again,

Dougie.

wget file location

I did the command:

Code: Select all

wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/opencvlibrary/files/opencv-unix/2.4.9/opencv-2.4.9.zip/download
and it says:

Code: Select all

2014-05-20 10:24:22 (820 KB/s) - `download' saved [91684751/91684751]
but cannot find the download folder on my pi.

Where have I downloaded this zip file to?

Re: external CCTV case for under £10?

Hi Mike, this looks good, if not a little tight, but how waterproof is it? Have you used one outside with a pi and PI camera in it? The links you gave didn't look like Amazon's usual site, so i searched for it. I'm assuming this is the same one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/250903043283?limghlpsr=...

external CCTV case for under £10?

Hi all, Iv'e been looking on the internet for a low cost external CCTV camera case, but have had no luck. Ideally I want one for under a tenner, but am struggling to find one that will fit a Raspberry pi with a noir camera and USB connector plugged in (they are quite long). I plan to mount the camer...
