Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

Have anyone got mame4all to work using DAC hats or other external USB audio?

I can't get it to work. All other emulators work fine. As soon as I disable the USB audio in asound.conf, mame4all works again. Any ideas?

MAME ROMS won't launch with USB sound card

Hello I just got a USB soundcard to my Pi Zero, and everything works great. All emulators run perfect, except for MAME. The games just won't launch. When I disable the soundcard (by removing the text in my asound.conf), all my MAME games run perfect. ... but as soon as I add pcm.!default { type hw c...

Auto launch game on boot?

Hello I will have a game setup locked inside a glass display at home, where I only have access to the power switch, no gpio or external controller. I want a nes game to be run in the background occasionally, and was wondering if there is a way to auto launch a game on boot? I'm running Retropie on a...

Hifiberry Dac and Retropie?

Hello Im using Retropie 3.0 on a B+ board and would like to add my Hifiberry Dac+ sound board. But I'm not sure what to do. I've updated the Kernel but the DAC board just won't work. No sound and no LED indication at all. I need to install the drivers I guess, but I can't seem to find any help when ...

MAME issue with Adafruit USB sound card

I'm running Retropie 3.0 on a RPI 2, loading ROM files from a USB flash drive I recently bought a USB sound card / audio adapter from Adafruit to get decent sound, and everything works great, except for loading MAME games. The MAME ROMs are detected in Emulationstation menu, but they won't launch. W...

Re: MAME issue with USB sound card

So I tried this link: https://raspberrypi4dummies.wordpress.com/2013/03/17/how-to-enable-usb-sound-on-a-raspberry-pi/ and now some MAME ROMs actually work, most still don't though. When trying to launch a game, I get this message flickering by real quick: "lv10 Error saving gamelist.xml to ""/media/...

Re: MAME issue with USB sound card

Bump! Update: I moved my MAME ROMs to the SD instead and loaded from there, same issue. So this has nothing to do with loading ROMs from USB. It just seem the USB sound card / audio adapter interfere with mame4all somehow. So, when I try to launch a MAME ROM with USB sound card connected, I just get...

Re: Power the Pi through GPIO?

Hmm, ok, that's good news for me. When powering through the 5V pin, I understand it has to be a powered from a regulated 5v source. Not sure why you are making the distinction. Powering via the micro-USB socket has the same requirement. I just read about it in another forum, but thanks for clearing!

Thanks Dave. I've sent you a PM Sorry for bumping my own thread, but I would really really like to know if this is possible? Yes it's possible. Curvature/CRT-simulation on A+, possible?

Hello I got a small project going on, and Im wondering if there's any possibilities to get curvature/CRT-simulation for a Pi A+ somehow.
