Forward composite out to GPIO?

I don't actually have my Pi yet, should be here in a week or so, but I would like to know if it would be possible to just forward the composite output to one of the GPIO pins? I'm working on a project that requires the least space possible and won't fit the 3.5mm jack plug, so I'm thinking it would ...

Re: Modifying a 3.5" car display for USB power.

Hello cheesyguy5 and tinylcd, I just received an other LCD which I ordered before you answered tinylcd (sorry) and tried to use that one instead. It appeared to have the same problem. By chance I found a 5V-source from a broken USB-Hub and tried running the LCD with that one and it worked. :D So I ...

Re: Modifying a 3.5" car display for USB power.

Hello! I also bought a slightly different display from eBay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/331113587110?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Which sadly didn't work from the beginning on. However it has a very small circuit board. So I've opened it and found out, that one of the flex...

Convert Java to C?

I've been reading about running a minecraft server on a Pi, and it seems the main reason it's so slow is that it's running in a Java Variable Runtime Environment. Wouldn't it be possible, at all, to convert the minecraft_server.jar to C code? If so, wouldn't it be able to run directly on the Pi with...

FFmpeg?

I have recently been encoding quite a lot of mp4 videos ('cuz my mp4 player only plays XVid) and I was wondering if I could run FFmpeg on the raspberry Pi, Would it be SO slow that it would take a few years for the first 10 seconds? Because if it does work, then I guess I'll be spending $35 tommorrow.

Re: Case that fits Adafruit 16x2 LCD .. and preferably more.

I once saw a guy that took an outlet box, (the blue thing that holds outlet and you can get for $1) Ground off the stuff on the inside of the box, put some wood in the bottom and the pi only took up half the space, then put in a really big battery, and screwed a piece of wood on the top, then he too...
