Re: Pi 4 with connection *only* to HDMI1 may fail to display.

I know it was frustrating, though you could have saved yourself a day, a few posts about it. With help I have found that

Code: Select all

core_freq_min=500
in config.txt worked, see https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... 8&t=243622.

Re: No hdmi signal on Pi4 using "hdmi1" after updating

I've got both hdmi sockets working now after adding

core_freq_min=500

to config.txt

As per https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/issues/1159

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

If this sort of jump is the norm for the Pi4, the new fully enclosed official case for the Pi4 could need a bit of a rethink, IMHO. Time will tell. The case doesn't seem that clever. I get to 80c with youtube playing, then 65c at idle, with the lid off! It could do with some holes drilled in the lid.

Re: Pi 4 Installation Issues (Solved)

The shop think it is software related and not a hardware issue. They are investigating. They have my two returned boards and one in the shop with issues. Hopefully a fix will come soon.

Re: Pi 4 Installation Issues (Solved)

Yes, it stops dual screen ability. I'm on my 2nd replacement Pi4 and this one has a fault with hdmi1 too.

Back to the Pi shop tonight. Hopefully 3rd time lucky.

Re: No hdmi signal on Pi4 using "hdmi1" after updating

hdmi1 should work though. A colleagues Pi4 works on hdmi1 after the update. Their sdcard in my Pi4 fails on hdmi1. Also prevents dual screen

So perhaps a hardware fault. Or pernickety hardware.

Re: Pi 4 Installation Issues

By any chance are you using hdmi1? I posted about this before reading about your woes. Try hdmi0, near the usb-c power input.

No hdmi signal on Pi4 using "hdmi1" after updating

Hi I got the Pi4 kit from the shop. Booting the Pi4 worked, but then after updates the Pi didn't work, no hdmi signal. Reflashed the latest Pi buster image, 2019-06-20 release, on to the card. Booted again, updated again, lost hdmi again. I was told by Pi store staff the Pi4 kit included a 32gb card...

fail2ban setup for SSH using keys

Hi I've enabled a Pi with SSH on Jessie Lite so I can login remotely. I have changed the port from 22 and enabled logging with SSH keys and then installed fail2ban with it set to ban on 1 failed login attempt. However fail2ban seems to ignore failed logins attempts without keys, auth.log shows sshd[...

Re: Any accessiblity options for disabled users?

Hi all

Yes thank you, this worked,

xset -r r off

I've added it to lxsession autostart to store it permanently.

Cheers

Re: Any accessiblity options for disabled users?

Thanks Dirk. I tried that option, but unfortunately it doesn't slow it down enough. We need the behaviour to be one key press no matter how long the key is held down. For me, I doubt I have the skill to implement accessibility options on the Pi myself. With Raspberry Pi increasingly being used in sc...

Any accessiblity options for disabled users?

Hi My 11 year old son spent a week at the Sonic Pi live coding at the Junction in Cambridge and loved it. However he struggles to use a Raspberry Pi, because it seems to lack accessibility options like filter keys. He tends to hold the keys down a little too long. I.e. in SonicPi, he wants to type p...

Re: Recommended Lead Free Solder?

Thanks for link. I particularly wanted lead free solder as I've got him a Velleman Pong game kit to get him started and wanted to avoid him handling lead whilst building and playing the game.

Recommended Lead Free Solder?

Hi I'm getting an Antex 15 watt C15 soldering iron for my son (and myself) for Christmas and I'd prefer that we use lead free solder. Does anyone have any recommendations of a particular type of lead free solder, diameter, materials, that works with circuit board soldering and a 15 watt iron? The ch...
