Re: Introducing my tiny (case-friendly) digital audio out ad

I should have plenty of blank PCBs for the old Raspi (with the empty 8-pin header "P5"), when TinyTOSLINK was really tiny. If only I could find them...

Re: TinyTOSLINK (digital audio output) now for B+, too

Nice board, it boots fast as hell, 15 seconds from power to prompt (incl. WiFi), compared to 34 seconds with my prevoius Pi2, or even 57 secs with the single core Pi B. Oops, my testing wasn't fair, I didn't use the same SD card, each board had its own card and Raspian image. Either using Debian Je...

Re: TinyTOSLINK (digital audio output) now for B+, too

I now have a Pi3, just did my first Raspian tests with it. Nice board, it boots fast as hell, 15 seconds from power to prompt (incl. WiFi), compared to 34 seconds with my prevoius Pi2, or even 57 secs with the single core Pi B. A little drawback: The SD card slot has no spring locking any more, will...

Re: Introducing my tiny (case-friendly) digital audio out ad

It's configured by solder joints. The first version had pairs of solder joints close to the outer pins. Two on the top side, another two on the bottom. With the current version, the pins themselves become part of the solder joint, which circle the pin pad. In other words, the solder joints are conce...

Re: TinyTOSLINK (digital audio output) now for B+, too

I got my RPI 2 Modell B here. As well I got the older Hifiberry Digi (not Digi+). Can I adapt the old digi to the new 40 pin header? Must not fit into a case. Can as well be wired with cables for about 10cm. That's indeed possible. In a german forum, I once posted how to wire my previous hardware t...

Probably all of them do, it's in the driver. Somebody did test it, said it works out of the box.

Re: TinyTOSLINK (digital audio output) now for B+, too

Christian, go for a filter on the PLL supply, don't just tie PVpp to 3.3V. If you need space, replace your R1 and R10 with wires. R4, R5, R7 may go, too. R6 and R13 may be omitted, but I admit I've never tested the EEPROM on my board. A bit of a pity for the missing input. The board is larger, well....

Re: TinyTOSLINK (digital audio output) now for B+, too

Hello, OP here, please forgive my absence, lots of work during the last months, won't get better soon. TinyTOSLINK started a lot more tiny, for the rev. B board. That's why it is reduced to the minimum component count. No space for series resistors. http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=...

Re: TinyTOSLINK (digital audio output) now for B+, too

Hello everyone, demand for TinyTOSLINK was quite high. Now the box is empty. I almost forgot to keep a few for myself, while the last ones were leaving. I'm not sure if or how to proceed, whether I'll have more built. Right now it feels like I need some time for other projects... I appreciate your i...

Re: TinyTOSLINK (digital audio output) now for B+, too

A user in the german uC forum has successfully made a digital recording with TinyTOSLINK. It just works out of the box, he found out. Just connect an S/PDIF signal to the input preparation of my PCB. If you want an optical receiver instead, you may add it externally, and better remove the 75 Ohm ter...

Re: custom lcd with official driver board

I'd also like to use the board for a different display, or do my own board.
Heared rumours that the timing is hard-wired in a binary blob of the video core, is that true?
It would be great if the geometry and timing could be adjusted, would open the door to DSI displays in general.

Re: Introducing my tiny (case-friendly) digital audio out ad

For Pi2, please see the B+ thread, it is the same connector: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=93522 All you'd need is the board, it plugs ontop of the 40 pin connector. I don't know RasPlex. With minimum googling, I found this: https://www.hifiberry.com/forums/topic/hifiberry...

Re: Introducing my tiny (case-friendly) digital audio out ad

Hello, OP speaking. Thanks for the effort to keep the forum clean. I'm not sure if both flavours of TinyTOSLINK should go into one thread, and which. The "B+ addons" forum section can be understood as the new 40 pin extension connector, which the Pi2 also features. Most of the TinyTOSLINK attention ...

Re: TinyTOSLINK (digital audio output) now for B+, too

@Jörg Is it possible to build a version with FOUR TOS-Link-transmitters? This would allow to transmit 8-channel LPCM as 4x LPCM stereo. That way any surround-codec could be decoded to multichannel-LPCM driving 4 stereo power-amplifiers. ;) Short answer: No. Long answer: The digital audio hardware i...

Re: Introducing my tiny (case-friendly) digital audio out ad

Will the b one work if you are unable to do the pi2 ones anymore? My B model can be (loosely) connected to a B+ or Pi2 with a set of 9 wires. It won't attach to the RasPi board. Actually, this setup might even be preferred by people who build something in a larger box, giving more freedom where to ...

Its exactly what i would need. Have you got time for one more? The B+/Pi2 model is sold out, I have on...
