The web pages are not 'bad'. The pi's SOC is the real issue. Some sites will perform better than others. Most modern sites will be slow to use on the Pi as it's simply not up to the task.

I'd imagine demand for the Model A is pretty low given the Model B also has a low price-point. It's probably more likely that they dont have continuous production of the Model A and instead do batches. A delayed batch or something maybe?

Realistically the Pi is not suited for this. Not by a long shot.

Theoretically yes, via AirPlay. However you'd need a strong network (wired would be best). Even then you'll be limited by whatever the Raspberry Pi and AirPlay can do, sound wise.
