Re: Bluetooth won't pair with keyboard, crashes

Similar problem with Bluetooth and my PS3 controller. Working fine until I updated + upgraded last week. Now repeatedly connects and disconnects and won't pair. Reverted to the backup I made before the update and it works fine again. Perhaps I'll just never update again :(

Re: is a RPi safe arround a pacemaker?

My heart often beats faster when I play with my Raspberry Pi's. But I can be very positive that it does not affect my pacemaker in the slightest, it's my poor coding skills that cause me stress!

Re: cv2 camara problem (no img)

Pi camera or USB camera? I have found that "cap=cv2.VideoCapture(0)" no longer works on my Pi's using the official Pi camera (version 1.0) since a recent update to Stretch, despite having worked for a couple of years previously. I have had to recode my programs to use Picamera instead. "cap=cv2.Vide...

Re: Error capturing video from the Pi camera with Open CV

I should have asked in yesterday's post, did you start the v4l2 driver?
Type "sudo modprobe bcm2835-v4l2" in a terminal window before you run the program.

Re: Error capturing video from the Pi camera with Open CV

I will be interested to see if you solve this. I have had the Pi camera working with OpenCV for a couple of years, first with Jessie and then with Stretch but after a recent apt-get update and upgrade the code (very similar to yours) ceased to work. I have had to rewrite using Picamera instead of Op...

Re: The window of video from usb camera is empty: python 3, opencv

The 0 in parentheses designates an internal webcam not a usb camera so that's what we need to change. If you want to know what to well I will tell you when I try IT!! Not necessarily true. On my set up with both the official Pi camera and a USB camera the USB camera is index (0) and the Pi camera i...

Yes, I have the same problem...... https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=225539&p=1384459#p1384459 Best of luck with it, I never got any response to the above post. Official camera not working after update/upgrade

My set up is Raspbian Stretch on a Pi 3B. For the past couple of years I have been successfully using two cameras, the official CSI camera (mark 1 version) for shape recognition and an old Logitec webcam for colour recognition, both using Python 2.7, OpenCV version 3.3.0 and v4l2 (initiated with " s...

After update camera and VNC server no longer function

As I have asked below (italics), is it possible to copy a complied (built) OpenCV installation to a new Raspbian without having to recompile? Thanks I have Raspbian Stretch running on my Pi 3B (not 3B+) in my DiddyBorg robot. As recommended I like to regularly update/upgrade but recently each upgrad...

Re: apt-get dist-upgrade vs flash with new version of OS

If you wish to go from Jessie to Stretch it is more complicated and not recommended:
I did this quite successfully (even the "two fingers" mod for the Florence virtual keyboard was carried over without problems) so it's well worth a try on a backed-up copy of your Jessie installation.

Re: GPS recommendations

Has anybody tried to make a local differential GPS system using two Pi's? It would need both Pi's to be fitted with similar GPS modules and both be on the same network so that they can communicate with each other. One of the Pi's (static Pi) will be in a fixed position and readings taken over a leng...

None of my Pis have attached keyboard, mouse or monitor. Two do not have microSD cards. All are functional, functioning computers, despite your assertion to the contrary.
You're obviously a very clever pedant.

Joystick map values

My DiddyBorg robot uses a Pi3B with Rasbian Stretch and is controlled via Bluetooth with a PS3 controller/joystick read using Pygame events. I did my usual monthly sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade yesterday (4th May 2018) and found that all of the axis and button values for the PS3 had b...

Re: program windows too big on Touch Screen

If you hold the "alt" key down and move the "mouse" pointer with your finger you can move the active window to get at the controls. This also works if you are using an on-screen keyboard such as Florence rather than a USB keyboard. I have the same problem with VNC Viewer as the window is far larger ...

Re: idle in virtual environment

I guess you have followed the recipe in PyImageSearch? I have just re-compiled OpenCV 3.3.0 in a new Stretch installation using those instructions but omitting the virtual environment steps. This means that OpenCV is installed in the normal Pi environment where it is accessible by other applications...

Re: openCV -3.3.0 compilation with raspberry pi

I've just done that using the instructions on "pyimagesearch" by Adrian Rosebrock (Google it). It would seem that it's the " j3" that's the problem, try it with "make" only (make) not (sudo make -j3). Adrian thinks there may be a problem with Stretch.

It took 8 hours to compile on my RPi 3B.

Re: It fell apart !

The problem seems to be that the adhesive used suffers from creep when stressed. Some fixings for cases designed for the screen work by holding the back of the glass bezel in tension against a plastic backing frame. This tension can be adjusted by slackening the fixing screws. I purchased one the ea...

Replacing green LED on Pi2B (early version)

Too many wires - power, HDMI, USB hub, keyboard and mouse, the dining room table was draped with them. I caught one with my foot and the Pi flew through the air and crashed onto the floor. It still works except for the green LED. Looking at it through a lens I can see that it is misshapen. Is it pos...

Re: VNC viewer window too big for 800 x 480 screen

Thanks for your reply. I'm afraid I wasn't explicit enough, the problem is with the VNC Viewer application window at start up of the app, long before I try to connect to the robot. I tried booting to HDMI mode on a monitor rather than the 7" screen but I get the same result, the VNC Viewer app fills...
