Re: Desktop x86 Resolution change

Just installed this in Virtualbox and indeed

- screen is tiny
- Option to change resolution does not show in settings
- lxrandr only gives 640x480 as option.

The whole thing is not really usable like this... :-(

Just Airplay

Hey, As Volumio can't stream to multiple Airplay devices, I opted to get an Synology NAS and use the build-in player to stream to multiple rooms. But I still want to use my Pi and my new DAC to stream the music to my Amp in the main room. Now I tried to use Shairplay-sync for this. But the setup, bu...

I'd like to start using COPS on a RPi B+, but I am a little unsure about how to start.
Did anyone find or make a step-by-step manual somewhere?

Whoa, that IS nice!

But if skype runs in the webbrowser... and all I need is a webbrowser... I am almost temted to remake this RPi2 into a webbrowser only computer...

Maybe the best way forward is to only have it run Firefox or Chrome...

I am now running Mate and it looks pretty :-)

I forgot completely about Skype not running on ARM. Are there (easy) workarounds? Or is this impossible?

Grandmother with a RPi2

Hey, I want to replace my grandmothers (old) Ubuntu laptop with a Pi2. The laptop is solely used for Skype and Firefox. As she likes to have new stuff, but is afraid of change, I want to have the interface as similar as possible. And with that I mean; hopefully I can make them identical to the pixel...

A thnx. Do you know which browser would support webRTC?

As for appending; yup, I learned that searching and appending is better then starting a new thread. The topic is still relevant.</off-topic>

Presentation

Heya, I made a presenation using OSX Keynote. I wish for this to show on the pi (model B 512MB) as soon as I start it up in full screen mode, so I can take it along, plugin in, attach a monitor and let it run. Now I was wondering: 1) what is the best presentation software for a pi (Libreoffice might...

Re: Troubleshooting Pi with Mac?

cool. I will look for the utilities to read ext4 on OSX. Also; fsck seems like a bad idea on a booted filesystem (so I read on the nets...) And fsck runs everytime a system boots, right? In which case a reboot of the (now working system) should be enough to do a check? And indeed, I went straight ah...

And if not, how can acces the files from my Macbook? When I insert the SD in my Mac I get two partition showing up: boot and RECOVERY, but no...

Pi + Apple Airport Extreme Network Drive

Hey, I have a USB drive attached to my Airport Extreme basestation. The drive is partitioned in three parts and secured with a password. One of the partitions I'd like to mount on my Pi, each and every time it starts up. I acces the pi solely through SSH. How can I do this? I can't seem to get the r...

Headless SeedPi Torrentstreamer

Hey!

I have a great time learning terminal stuff with my Pi.
Now I was diving into setting it up as a seedbox. Is it possible to use transmission for that in such a way I can use the web interface to check the status of my files, but without 'X' actually running on the pi?

cheers!

Hey! I'd like to use the pi for a car sharing calendar. We are four people and one car. So it would be awesome if we can check online if someone already has reserved the car or is using it. I just installed LAMP on the pi and that works. Now I am hoping someone has tips for a nice calender webapp I ...

I use leafpad. Yeah, I know, no credibility, but I don't see the reason to struggle with clunky non-gui and obscure text editors. I just right click on the file that needs editing and have it execute the command sudo leafpad ... Where can I find/get LeafPad? Nothing happens when I type LeafPad in C...
