Re: Raspberry Pi 4 OpenVPN stopped working

and anyone who has a problem where it doesn't seem that their kernel version is reverting - do you have your RPi4 with the rootfs on a USB (using an SD card to boot, and an edited cmdline.txt to point the rootfs to the USB root partition)? If so, you need to sudo mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /boot before ru...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 OpenVPN stopped working

If not, I suggest you reinstall the standard kernel pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get update (standard output) pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get --reinstall raspberrypi-bootloader raspberrypi-kernel (more output) then reboot and check it works. just need to adjust final command to be sudo apt-get insta...

Re: RPi & USB HDD/SSD - USB Enclosure recommendation? (UAS uas_eh_abort_handler problems with current one)

Hi, Update - I've found a USB 3.0 enclosure that doesn't have all the uas_eh_abort_handler errors, and my RPi4 boots in lightning quick time. For reference: Inateck 2.5 Hard Drive Enclosure, USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Case, FE2004 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IJNDBM4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_...

RPi & USB HDD/SSD - USB Enclosure recommendation? (UAS uas_eh_abort_handler problems with current one)

Hi, I got my RPi4 in the post yesterday, and once I'd realised it doesn't boot from USB out of the box (gah), I ran into a problem. I've got a : WD Blue 500GB SSD https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073SBZ8YH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and a Sabrent 2.5-Inch SATA to USB 3.0 en...

Re: I can´t boot from usb in pi 4

Thanks - had horrible thoughts my brand new Pi 4 was fried and the USB ports were broken. For reference, the instructions on the 'old old' method of booting from USB are https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=44177 , although note that doing it via sd x is not recommend - use partuuid in...

Re: Amazon Glacier automatic backup - working!

Hi Vsepb, you're quite right - after writing the post I realised the journal was unique to mnt-aws-glacier, but hadn't got round to editing the post! I can acheive something pretty similar by using the 'restore' command with "--max-number-of-files=", and running 'restore' and 'restore-completed' com...

Amazon Glacier automatic backup - working!

More just a heads-up that this is working on the Pi than anything else. I'm using my Pi to backup network shares to Amazon Glacier (very affordable offsite backup solution - I'm using it to backup my music and photos - perfect for a large amount of data that doesn't change or get deleted often - see...
