How would i record for just 60s ca 1 [6000]? I don't know where to place ca 0 to close file. some example screen shots using fixed time...

Convert video from h264 to mp4

I'm new to recording videos. I'm looking to convert h264 to mp4 and then play it in my current Chromium web browser or Epiphany browser. I've read some instruction which say mp4 can be played in Epiphany browser, but i'm not sure how to get to it. My thought is that it has been replaced by Chromium ...

AWB_MODES in loop

For some reason I cannot preview a cycle of effects for AWB_MODES and EXPOSURE_MODES. I successfully did it for IMAGE_EFFECTS. My camera goes full screen and stays active on screen. I don't know how to escape without turning power off. camera.start_preview() for effect in camera.AWB_MODES: camera.im...

Re: Python & Serial Monitor

As a side issue could you clarify what you are trying to do. My understanding is that you are used to the Arduino environment and sketches. You now want to develop similar programs but using the Pi instead of an Arduino. Is that correct? Yes, I'm trying to incorporate a motion detector sensor with ...

Ok, but I'm trying to get away from the Arduino and emulate my arduino sketch using python. Does Python have a similar tool to the Arduino's serial monitor with baudrate?

Python & Serial Monitor

Does the Raspberry Pi have a similar feature to the Arduino's Serial Monitor where you can set the baudrate and monitor a sensor's state? If so, how do you use it in Python?

Re: No Sound from Audio Jack

Ah yes, I forget to mention. I'm using an HDMI to DVI cable, which means I'm not using the audio feature in the HDMI. I now changed my configuration in raspi-config and trying to test the sound thru youtube or a music file I saved onto the desktop. However, I can't hear anything on the youtube video...

Installing the GPIO Python Library

I'm reading along with Raspberry Pi User Guide by Eben Upton and Gareth Halfacree. On page 190 mentions downloading the GPIO Python Library using 1 of 2 ways. 1) Go to the website (code.google.com) and download or 2) use a wget statement in the terminal window. I want to use option 2, but the websit...
