Re: the rage is coming

I don't know exactly how many people are after the RPi but I can say that there will most likely be a huge number of people who didn't get in on the initial release... and they will rage.

Re: Power Consumption: Some numbers?

I was wondering if the RPi could be used with a Y-split USB cable for more amperage. I know USB-powered HDDs and external CD/DVD/BD drives use these Y-split USB cables for around 2A total.

Re: memory usage

I was thinking about maybe a torrent client and quassel-core or irssi.

Re: memory usage

I was wondering about how much memory is used during a 1080p video playback. for low-end programming and small-footprint linux distributions, 128-256MB RAM is a good enough size. has video playback been measured via RAM? could I also run a few things while I watch 1080p anime or the likes?

Re: Raspberry Pi Packaging?

Can't imagine the Raspberry Pi being in more than a static bag, sandwiched between soft foam and in a box. It's the way most of small footprint items I buy are packaged.

Re: Pi Tins : Casings for the Raspberry Pi

I'd like to see a simple, cheap box with the appropriate holes for the connectors for about 2$ or even 1$ (ebay?).

note: as someone who has had a couple CPUs flop from repeated overheating, a HSF solution would be less worry-some even if the chip is one that would keep in high heat.

Re: Shipping to the U.S.A.

mmm... a retailer in the U.S. would be even better (shipping times and all).

Does anyone have any idea as to the shipping costs to the U.S. per unit.?  Also are  all of the accessories and the R-Pi to go on sale at the same time?

I'd like to know the shipping on this to the U.S. as well.
