Re: When are people in the U.S. getting their Pi 4s?

I received my 2GB and 4GB rpi's last week on thursday. I am just using a regular charger with 6 ports(an Anker) that can put out 2.1 Amps per port. I am not doing any hard drives on the usb so I don't need the extra amperage. I put a meter on the supply, and It is only pulling about .6 amps under l...

Re: apt update and apt upgrade messed up something

I have fixed the problem. It turns out that the python3 installed with the google assistant was being ignored after doing the raspbian upgrade. I now run it using the python3 installed by using the full path in the AIY kit rather than the standard python3 for raspbian. The setup for the service give...

apt update and apt upgrade messed up something

Greetings all, I had the assistant_library_demo.py working as expected after I got the kit yesterday. However, I upgraded the jessie image from May for the kit and an rpi-update followed by a reboot, the demo no longer works. The error is as follows: pi@rpiokgoogle:~/AIY-voice-kit-python $ src/assis...

pixel and open folders from desktop in new window

Greetings! I have found that the subject no longer works in pixel, however i have found a workaround for the problem as follows: The -n option needs to be added to the pcmanfm command sudo nano /usr/share/applications/pcmanfm.desktop make the Exec line look like: Exec=pcmanfm -n %U save and exit the...

Re: USB boot now working on Pi3

Using the newest image for 09-23-16, the sudo BRANCH = NEXT rpi-update fails as follows: *** Raspberry Pi firmware updater by Hexxeh, enhanced by AndrewS and Dom *** No hash received from github: https://api.github.com/repos/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/git/refs/heads/NEXT { "message": "Not Found", "document...

Re: rpi3 rpi-update using next causes looong timeout usb boo

Well, I have fixed my problem by returning to the version I used prior to running rpi-update. I did this by copying the contents of /boot from the sd card i created initially to the /boot of the usb stick. I then edited the /boot/cmdline.txt of the memory stick and pointed it to sda2 instead of the ...

rpi3 rpi-update using next causes looong timeout usb boot

I configured my rpi3 to usb boot last week, and was working well. I did an rpi-update using BRANCH=next to update to the latest kernel this afternoon.
Oops, mistake, as now the rpi3 takes forever to go from text mode to graphical desktop mode(around 10 minutes).

Any ideas?

Regards!
