Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

Tiger79 are you seeing this too? If its a problem with the code I'm interested in fixing it! . Hi, I cannot test atm but if possible I will pick it up this week to see if I am getting the results I have been hoping for (640x480 at 15fps with 8-10% cpu usage, actually what I am able to do now with a...

Re: Video4Linux2 driver ready!

Also when looking at the output stream the framerate is really really low (2-3 fps)... Since v1.8 the driver also supports MJPEG Video Streaming at high framerates (other than the continous JPEG Still Capture). You may want to try it out. Thanks for the headsup ! I just read this ;) I'll be having ...

Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

Hi there, I have been trying the MachHack version and I noticed some things : - won't accept all supplied resolutions, for example 544x288 will result in no output at all !!! - the throughput/bandwidth is about twice as high as I would expect... We are talking more than 5 mbit for 320x240, which nor...

Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

hey MacHack,
I was wondering do you also have a similar solution for an external (usb) webcam ? So not the raspicam but a simple UVC cam ?

Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

This is interesting stuff, but I have no idea on how to get this working ? Have to build it first en then use it as a binary instead of the standard raspicam ? Also, back to jacksonliam plugin : I am curious if you can find the time (and maybe the bug :P) this weekend. Would be nice if a higher fram...

Re: Video4Linux2 driver ready!

no idea to be honest, I haven´t seen any b+ack frames on the other hand if I´m not mistaken that could happen after some time... I haven´t tested it very long...
My experience with this solution atm is that it also doesn´t work for everyone, in this case myself ;)

Re: Video4Linux2 driver ready!

I don't exactly understand what is the effect and/or what you expect to see. Can you give a screenshot? Have you considered the --nopreview option? ok what it looks like is that there are two preview screens, #1 is shown, then it dissapears and #2 is shown (even though this one is "zoomed out" comp...

Re: Video4Linux2 driver ready!

Hi, I am trying to use the v4l2 driver according to the Example 3: HTTP Server with mjpg-streamer or vlc found in http://www.linux-projects.org/modules/sections/index.php?op=viewarticle&artid=16 I am actually following every single step to the letter, but unfortunately what happens is that I see the...

Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

well, every once and then I get some output like 100 frames captured in 29.7 seconds (3.36 fps)... Thats how it is measured, but to be honest it is also visible, I mean with that framerate I can actually count the frames :P I will try the extra parameter you mentioned, but as far as you know it shou...

Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

I am having some performance problems, mostly regarding the fps... For example if I sue the following command : ./mjpg_streamer -o "output_http.so -w ./www" -i "input_raspicam.so -d 200 -x 800 -y 640" I wont be getting more than 3.35 fps... CPU-load doesn't seem to be the problem at all... Changing ...

Any news about this by any chance ?
A good running version perhaps ? Because with the standard compiled version even the audio is unbearable :(

Re: RTSP Streaming

It might be me but the result is pretty consistent with the standard rtsp streaming capabilities of raspivid ?!
Also I cannot see any difference in "lag" inbetween those two versions... So I was wondering : did u mean to cut the lag as well with this implementation ?

Re: Using VLC to stream from the camera - Help needed

I am curious why in this topic people are mentioning rtsp as the better option qualitywise compared to http-streaming ?
I have been playing with both now and I have to say that when using rtsp there are a lot more artifacts, grey screens and simply 5 to 10 seconds freezes...
