Re: Pi 3B+ won't boot (added 4 MiB block between boot and rootfs)

The solution that worked for me was to change cmdline.txt to have root=/dev/mmcblk0 and to change the fstab file to have that as well. Both were using a UUID that was defined in the cmdline.txt file and for some reason or another it wouldn't boot completely. Although it did boot prior to moving the...

A little eyestrain, maybe?
Sorry, typing error on my part. I did in fact have them correct when I executed the command. I have tried this several times with no luck. Thanks

Pi 3B+ won't boot (added 4 MiB block between boot and rootfs)

I have struggled with using the Stretch Lite image from the Raspberry Pi website with the Pi 3 B+. Some background in the past there were issues with SD card corruption on the Pi 1 which I tried to limit by having a read only partition. To do this correctly I needed to add a 4MB block between the en...

Random Networking issues after reboot

We have several RPI3's around here all hardwired to our network via ethernet. Periodically after a reboot they will not get back on the network. After some reboots they will get back on the network, most of the time. We are using wicd-curses to connect to the network and when they don't get online w...

Re: RPi3 Random Reboot Issues

.... I logged date time and temp to a file prior to each reboot. .... Could you add to your script and get it to record free space on the SD card and free system memory? I'm assuming that after a power reset all runs normal again for a while? this happens right after a boot...when trying to shutdow...

Re: RPi3 Random Reboot Issues

On the Raspberry Pi 1's and 2's I have noticed that some reboots failed to get beyond the rainbow flash screen. A solution has never been found for this problem, although several say its possibly an SD card issue or Power supply. In an effort to eliminate the issue I add a line to /etc/rc.local whic...

Re: RPi3 Random Reboot Issues

I am using SanDisk commercial product, provided through San Disk direct. I am using Raspbian Jessie Lite. The filesystem has no corruption when this happens and is 100% healthy with a brute force power cycle.

RPi3 Random Reboot Issues

I have 10 Pi 3's that I run through a reboot test cycle. After a random number of boots the reboot fails. I am scratching my head as to what is causing this. Have any others noticed this? Last test rebooted succesfully 80 times before failing. Upon a reboot I run a script via rc.local that calls a s...

Pi 3 HDMI output flickers on and off during boot

Hello all, I have Pi 3's (5), running kernel 4.4.7-v7+, during boot after the logo the screen will flicker on and off. I can tell this because my display post a no signal detected logo temporarily a few times after the logo. Is there a way to force HDMI output to stay on during boot. I have tried to...

Re: Pi 3 Networking Problems

change to iface eth0 inet manual I made this change and the first reboot I got a 169.*.*.* address. I then removed the /etc/dhcpcd.duid file and rebooted again and did not get an IP address. Are there other files to look at or modify with the new raspberrypi-net-mods package and Jessie that need to...

Re: Pi 3 Networking Problems

Are you using the official Pi3 power supply? No I am using a 3A power supply. I do not have any peripherals attached to the USB slots and have this same power supply on serveral other Pi's (although not Pi3's) with no issue. I can test the supply with my oscilloscope and see just how much power the...

Re: how do you hide all the boot text?

I need to be able to copy all of the startup scrolling text to a file, for later review, in case of error. How do I do that? Maybe this is already done, but on startup the text scrolls too fast to read. Thanks
