Re: Midi Interface, total newbie

Hi rdnzl - Here are a few pointers I've found useful to get started programming midi on the Pi: - Python on the Pi comes with PyGame installed and its own midi wrapper around ALSA. Here is an example that shows how to talk to pygame.midi https://bitbucket.org/pygame/pygame/src/25e3f2cee879/examples/...

Re: Kids Education and hobbies

The basic distribution includes Python and PyGame - a nice framework for building realtime games, playing sounds and dealing with MIDI notes. To program MIDI events in Python you do use the module "pygame.midi" I found this example that I thought was a good starting place to get going with Pygame an...

Simple h.264 HLS Server, audio too

I wanted to do some experiments with serving up HLS segments using ffmpeg and the camera capture board. I also wanted to try capturing audio using a USB microphone. I expected there to be a lag between the audio and video. It's pretty big, and it seems to increase over time. Here is some of what I l...

rpi-pwm and camera together?

New to RPi here. I started with Wheezy (july 2013) dist and have a nicely working camera. I wanted to try controlling a servo with the PWM and it looked like the easiest way was to start with the Adafruit Occidentalis v0.2 distribution. I installed it, but it seemed that I could not get the camera e...

ffmpeg native build - my experience

Over the weekend I began experimenting with the camera board. I wanted to process the raw h264 stream coming out of raspivid to segment it. [First of all: read here about about SPS/PPS and the Raspberry Pi Camera https://github.com/AndyA/psips. Thanks Andy!] I tried using the installed aconv to segm...
