Re: Advanced images? What's different?

There is only one official Raspbian Wheezy image, the latest release 25/09/2013.

Noobs is just any easy way to install & run mutiple Distro's, as explained here:

Honestly, you can just delete the post. It's already been derailed before it could take off and my enthusiasm for having the discussion or participating in this community is shot anyways. Plug it in and on the Command Line type:

lsusb

press enter and hopefully it will give information regarding the WiFi Chipset, but according to the following link it is supported in Raspbian Wheezy, if it does have a Ralink RTxxxx

@Oakham My apologizes. My search terms on the forum all came back as being "Too small" or "Too common" so I apparently glossed over them. If this should be closed or moved, I have no problem there. Didn't mean to cause any tension. Edit: And looking at the other two posts that you mentioned, neithe...

Re: WIFI chipset for Raspberry: RT5370 or RT8188?

With the latest Raspbian Wheezy the Ralink RT5370 works OK.

Though personally I have had more reliabilty from the Realtek RTL8188 in Linux

Re: pi to pi wifi

If you have wireless router and both Pi's are connected to the router successfully you are almost there.

If using Raspbian Wheezy, then install Samba on both Pi's and set up sharing.

Re: LinuxMint on Raspberry PI

Cinnamon is available for ArchLinuxArm so maybe you could try it ?

Cinnamon is not available in official Debian Wheezy or Jessie packages.

Linux Mint is Ubuntu based and Ubuntu do not support. aRMv6 architecture of the Pi.

Re: Can i release a modified version of raspberry pi

This has now gone completely off-topic, the OP wanted to create a RasPi C, not feasible or possible, why keep argueing ?

Please can this thread be locked as already stated that IMO this is just another "I want" thread. Pi in the Sky!

Re: Initial Problem

It appears that some Laptop SDCard Readers can cause issues, though as suggested first try a Raspbian Wheezy Image.

I bought a USB Card Reader for a £1 from Poundland !

None of what you desire is not possible with the standard Pi, therefore as you stated yourself you will be manufacturing something which already exists. Pi in the sky !

Re: PI router

Still do not understand but either idea seems you would not be creating a intergrated network, maybe:

DSL Modem
ethernet cable to
Pi*
ethernet cable to
Wireless Router
ethernet / wireless to other devices

*would need a USB to Ethernet adaptor
