Re: RISC OS now under the Apache 2.0 Licence

Funny how my last post on this forum was me lamenting how RISC OS being shared source was holding it back, really unexpected to see it finally be fully open sourced properly and I think it's great news for the platform. It is no longer a "dead end" where contributors are essentially working for a pr...

Re: I tried RiscOS Pi

It is a very nice OS. It's just unfortunate it's not full open sourced (just shared source) otherwise we'd probably see a lot more development and applications for it.

Re: Rasbian, E17 and display mode problem

Since Bodhi is now no longer available - are there any other solutions to this issue? I too am experiencing this strange colour reversal problem with the Enlightenment E17 package on the latest Raspbian. It seems once the compositor kicks in (when 32bpp is set on the framebuffer) that's where this i...

Re: Programming an internet enabled app on RISC OS

I like IDEs and rapid development, and I don't know if anything like this exists for Risc OS. There's always Smalltalk - the original IDE - in the form of Squeak; http://squeakvm.org/riscos/ Hmm, looks very interesting! Completely unfamiliar to me but I'll definitely give this a look. Also hi to yo...

Re: Programming an internet enabled app on RISC OS

Thanks for your help! Sounds like there is quite a lot to set up - was hoping to find some sort of pre-built environment I could just unzip and get started right away. Never that simple it seems!

Programming an internet enabled app on RISC OS

The first programming language I ever learned was BBC Basic on an Acorn A3000 - I have since moved onto languages on the PC like Delphi and C#. I like C# particularly as it it includes libraries that allow you to do almost anything. With the Raspberry Pi I want to do programming on Risc OS again, I ...

Re: Win95 on real Raspi

Just want to compliment you on your great work with this, after banging my head with the qemu in the repository, I downloaded your prebuilt ADLIB one and FINALLY got windows xp to work - great stuff! My main interest is actually launching one (closed source) application perfectly emulated, I've hear...

Re: Qemu on pi and read disk errors

I have this EXACT issue! Has anyone been able to figure it out? I tried booting from usb and on the SD card, and both times get the same error. I even tried running the windows setup on the device instead of setting it up on another (faster) machine first, and I get the Disk read error when it goes ...

Re: Compiling Gambatte Gameboy Emulator on Raspbian?

Just a bump on this topic. I know compiling errors are boring and happen all the time on Linux systems, but I'm still hoping just one knowledgeable person on here will take the time to help me out with this. Thanks!

Compiling Gambatte Gameboy Emulator on Raspbian?

Hi - can anyone help me getting Gambatte (lib-retro) running on Raspbian? I am most interested in getting working since it has good sound emulation, however it produced an error when compiling: g++ -o src/video/sprite_mapper.o -c -Wall -Wextra -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti -DHAV...

Console installer screens?

Hi all, I've noticed on various linux installations, and even when you first boot the Raspberry Pi, you get a standard installer/config screen, like this: http://www.pluggy.me.uk/raspberry/raspi-config.png My question is how do I make a custom one of these screens, and have it show every time the Pi...
