Re: Microsoft Visio Raspberry Pi Shapes

I don't have any drawing skills sadly!

I could use a generic symbol, but it would just look much nicer and push the Raspberry Pi to the students more and show how well it can integrate with other kit.

Microsoft Visio Raspberry Pi Shapes

Hi, I'm teaching my students some networking and we are drawing it up on Microsoft Visio. Part of our network consists of Raspberry Pi computers. Unfortunately Visio does not include a pre-designed shape for the Raspberry Pi. Does anyone else who uses Visio have any there could share. I'm looking to...

Re: youtube-dl

It does sometimes appear that occasionally users accidentally answer questions without testing on a Raspberry Pi first. If you are using the full desktop experience of Raspbian pip3 will already be installed. If you are using the 'Lite' version, install pip3 with: sudo apt-get install python3-pip Re...

TV Hat - Multiple Recordings

I have series recordings set-up on TVHeadend and on Sunday I was recording one film on ITV2 which started at 20:00 and went onto 22:00, and another programme on ITV3 which ran from 21:00 to 23:00. Both programmes seem to have recorded perfectly despite the 1 hour overalap? I had assumed you would ne...

Re: Raspberry Pi TV Hat Playback Issues

Unless you are in a strong signal area you may struggle to get HD channels. It would be good to hear how you get on with it though. Would be great to have a solution for when I'm away from home.

Re: Raspberry Pi TV Hat Playback Issues

This is the sort of feedback, presumably because people are using the web browser player. The changes to the notes you are making will make it much clearer.

Re: Raspberry Pi TV Hat Playback Issues

Interesting. I had to enter 'Y' to confirm installation, then 'y' to confirm from untrusted sources.

Anyway, I hope the updated version helped.

Thanks Dom, I'm using Chrome. Note for other users. This only worked with installing the version from the TVHeadEnd website.

Re: Raspberry Pi TV Hat Playback Issues

Dom,

Any idea why I get perfect playback from the browser with HD streams (BBC1 HD for example). Are they using an encoder built into the browser?

Re: Raspberry Pi TV Hat Playback Issues

Hi Hippy Yes it only works with a clean install of Raspian (at least that was my findings). The install does error if you already have (or have ever had) the standard version installed. I just tried a standard uninstall then went for fresh install as I find it easier (especially as I use Raspian Lit...

Re: Raspberry Pi TV Hat Playback Issues

Thank you Dom, Could you arrange for the instructions to be changed as this directly contradicts the official information provided (which I think is probably why people are reporting issues. To watch a TV channel in the browser, click the little TV icon to the left of the channel listing, just to th...

Re: Raspberry Pi TV Hat Playback Issues

Hi James, Thanks for the reply. I'm not using any special configuration. Just the standard install procedures provided by the foundation. I did do further testing with other versions as detailed in my post, but the warnings and poor playback appear with the standard recommended configuration. This s...

Re: Raspberry Pi TV Hat Playback Issues

Thanks. Can you set up recording within LibreElec?

I'm a little disappointed that this wasn't picked up in the testing phase as it seems to be a commonly reported issue.

Still a fantastic device though!

Raspberry Pi TV Hat Playback Issues

First of all, thank you for such a great device. I have it up and running on my 3+, and I'm using TVHClient on my Android phone to watch live TV and schedule and watch recordings at my leisure. My only issue is when I'm in the web interface (on another computer) and go to the 'Electronic Programme G...

Re: How can I save pictures from USB camera to an external hard driver through Raspberry pi 3?

There is a good tutorial here which would get you started.

https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... e/webcams/

You could then set-up a cron job to copy the images to a external drive.

Re: raspbian-stable-main package repository very dated

Related to to above comments is it OK just to add the Debian repository to the end of the current sources.list file rather than create a sources.list.d directory. Also when I add the debian repository I get a message when I try and update that the repository is un-signed. I can proceed by pressing '...

Re: Setting up Arch Linux on a PI 3 (with all wistles and bells)

This worked well for me. Thank you.

The only issue I had was that

Code: Select all

xorg-server-utils
has been deprecate. So I did some research and used

Code: Select all

pacman -S xorg-apps
Also when you open the GNOME software manager you just get a blank screen.

New Icons in latest release

Hi,

I notice on the downloads page that Raspbian was updated on the 21st June. I see one of the updates is:

* New icons with thinner outlines

I'm away from my Pi for a while so I wonder if anyone who has updated could send a few images?
