Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hello Robert, folks, I'm afraid I missed more than half a year joining this forum. My cams worked like charm with v5.4.1. Now one has given up (an outdoor cam, perhaps too cold), so I have to reflash it. Looking at the newest threads I wonder what has changed. Reading 20+ forum pages here is no opti...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Some experiences with the new camera v2: - first of all: it can substitute a v1 completely and without software impact. Everything workes fine. I've got a normal and a NoIR camera v2 module here. - the cheap lenses compensate the gain of 8MB over 5MPs: I don't see any differences when zooming into r...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hi Robert, there's a problem occured since at least version 6.0.27 and command strings. When putting a string like "at 1 255 128 128;em night" into the period start field only the first parameter will be executed. It worked fine with the previously installed version 6.0.22 and is definitely new wit...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Couple of small changes based on recent requests. %z in the annotation naming scheme tries to include text from a user_annotate.txt file. This is defined in /etc/raspimjpeg (default /dev/shm/mjpeg/user_annotate.txt If present then the file is read on each frame and substitutes for %z (max 100 chara...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Hello all, I assembled (another word for putting "stolen code" together) a file called cam_stream.php that takes care of the new AutoCamera_Interval parameter when accessing raspimjpeg with a view like vlc or tinyCam. See below. It takes the AutoCamera_Interval parameter from the Edit schedule setti...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

Couple of thoughts. As using the standard browser client supports the touch update via the status_mjpeg.php I think the main use would be to access the mjpeg stream outside of the main client. One could add it as a separate php to avoid having 2 touch processes going on in parallel. Although fairly...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

cam_pic_new.php is called when in full MJPEG streaming mode. It is normally called once every time going into the index page to kick off the MJPEG stream. You have the touch inside the streaming loop which will keep the camera alive even if the status file php isn't being used. As you say it is tou...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

cam_get just delivers the cam.jpg data. I also got cam_pic_new.php to activate the camera by adding touching the status file into the php script: ... set_time_limit(0); // Set this so PHP doesn't timeout during a long stream while(true) { ob_start(); touch("status_mjpeg.txt"); echo "--$boundary\r\n...

Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

I have made a change to schedule part of RPi_Cam which achieves this. There is a new setting on Scheduler page called AutoCamera_Interval. If set to 0 (default) then behaviour is as before. If set to a number of seconds (e.g. 20) then it turns on AutoCamera on/off functionality. The number of secon...

Thank you for that tip. Just one more thing I have just loaded the new Debian Jessie and want to try that with RPi Cam Web. I assume that will work on the Rpis B, B+ and 2. I'm not sure if that combination works. Raspimjpeg makes use of the officially added tools/kernel drivers in raspbian for the ...

The RPi Cam Web Interface is a fine piece of work. I cannot get any camera output over my browser BUT raspistill -output test.jpg does show an output. Re: RPi Cam Web Interface

"changing-name-scheme-bug" intended to have both a %t and a %i in their filename somewhere, where %t is the identifier for a group of images making up a time lapse and %i is the image number within that group. Only filenames are used to group the data This sounds plausible. Thanks for explanation!

"changing-name-scheme-bug" As long as I don't change the predefined name scheme for time laps pics I can download them in the automatically created zip without problems. The RPF have said it's possible there will be a CM2, but they don't like to reveal their product plans before a new device is available. Re: RPi Cam Web Interface ( Keeps rebooting )

One thing worth bearing in mind is the power USB cable supplying the Pi. This is a critical component particularly when using higher currents. No matter how good the power supply is, if you have a long /higher resistance cable then you will end up with an unstable Pi. For example say you were drawi...
