Re: Pi Zero W: Max. number of WiFi clients?

For the pi WiFi chip ('Broadcom BCM43438) I've seen limits of 16 or 32 devices mentioned: https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/50162/maximum-wi-fi-clients-on-pi-3-hotspot It's down to both the drivers, and hardware, see this thread for differing limits of various USB WiFi chipsets: https:...

USB composite capture devices like easyCap are quite cheap, but have many different chipsets - not all work with the pi.

This one is cheap, and reviews specifically mention it works with pi:

Not sure why the mystery/ total lack of description here ...? So I'll add the main parts: - Emulate x86 code using qemu . - Create a full chroot filesystem of x86 Debian using debootstrap - Use binfmt bintools tools to recognise x86 binaries so they can be auto directed to qemu for emulation. https:...

Re: Pi Card Imager - android app prepares SD cards without PC

Have you tried the selection of OS in the menu (not your own IMG file) ?

Try "Noobs Lite" first as that's built into the app, and needs no download.

If you try using you own .img file on a non-rooted phone it won't work,
as android does not allow direct disk access.

29MB is a stage in a NOOBS install when it starts creating/formatting the filesystem.

Sounds like an incompatible SD card ?

For NOOBS the SSH file method to enable ssh only works on the very first boot (when NOOBS system formats /creates the partitions).

Re: May I use the RUN pin holes on Raspberry pi 3 like on/off, putting a switch?

As above, shorting the RUN header is a hard instant off. For a graceful shutdown/ restart, add this line in /boot/config.txt : dtoverlay=gpio-shutdown and then instead of using run, wire the pushbutton to GPIO3 (pin 5) and GND. Pressing that will shutdown the pi correctly to halt state. Another pres...

Re: Just received my RPi4b/4GB - no HDMI output!!!

NOOBS currently sets some incorrect flags for HDMI1 in config.txt for the underlying OS (hdmi_force_hotplug=1). Your comment "It's a normal hdmi cable with micro hdmi adapter on it." implies you're using HDMI1 (as the blob adapters don't fit in HDMI0 as they hit the power connector). I'm confused a...

Hotplug has never been supported on the Pi.
Unless you put hdmi_force_hotplug=1 in config.txt
That's usually the first thing I do.

Altered config.txt
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_group=2

But still only getting 1024x768, every time I alter it in the Screen Layout Editor to 1366x768 & apply it, it reverts back to 1024x768!
Add
hdmi_mode=81
for 1366x768 ?

So, just tried powering up the monitor & then the RPi4B once the monitor is on, separately like we used to have to do, & still no HDMI output. If you put this line in config.txt hdmi_force_hotplug=1 it won't matter which order you power or connect screen & pi. Worth doing if you're getting blank/no...
