Re: Rasberry Pi as in car pc

Not really a "standby function", but the GPU goes automatically in low power mode when it is not used, which means that power usage is strongly reduced when not writing to the video system.
It could be used as a secondary alarm system in low power mode?

Re: Wind or Solar plus Battery monitoring.

Maybe a "wind-up" solution would be better, you could charge it by hand whilst its still on...admittedly it might take a lot of "winding" to get a decent battery charged!

Re: SD Card Setup

If you want to restore the card to its full capacity visible in windows, format the 75mb partition to NTFS, then use DISKPART to select the drive and run EXTEND.

Re: All-in-one Pi Display...

Ok decision made - Abort!

I have no way to be sure of the current the ciruit is rated for, it may be on a 3.15A fuse but it could already be drawing 2A on that, not enough head room for my liking.

I will be going with an external PSU and a discreete mounting on the back of the monitor.

Re: All-in-one Pi Display...

Yes, indeed. I am thuroughly researching the circuitry before proceeding. The monitor I have retains the circuitry for more advanced models with many more features than this one. The 5v rail i have identified is behind a 3.15A fuse. However, I will proceed with great caution! The is indeed space ins...

Re: RPI inside display

Hi, i've just started the same project, but on a different display.
I too have located a +5v and GND source to power the Pi.

Have you have any issues with current draw? Does you power source supply enough current?

All-in-one Pi Display...

I'm working on incorporating the Pi into an all-in-one solution with a spare TFT display I have. The ideal is to have one power cable and no externally visible devices. When looking into powering the Pi I have located a +5v and GND spare source on the TFT transformer (I presume that's what it is - b...

Thanks for the reply error404. Yes i've not seen many monitors with more than 2 USB ports, so youre right, i would be down a port.

Looking forward to getting my hands on a Pi!
