cron without login

Hi,

I am planning to write a python script which will be executed by a cron job. If I ever happen to switch off/on the Pi, does it require re-login for the script to get executed by cron? I mean does the cron job run without log in?

As pointed out by Pieter, I may have to use either a network connection or RTC module. And, in my case RTC module would be the ideal solution since network connection may not be available where the Pi will be installed.
